Please could you stop this feeling
like you're misunderstood
I know that what you've done
you've done the best that you could

I Understand
I Understand
You're not alone
It's not what you've planned
I Understand
You're not alone

You've backed yourself into a corner of yourself
Another reason not to listen to everyone else

I Understand
I Understand
You're not alone
It's not what you've planned
I Understand
You're not alone

On either side you'll find a door to be opened
And one will have to close
There's no way out but through
I've been there before
Don't please everyone -- just you

I Understand
I Understand
You're not alone
It's not what you've planned
I Understand
You're not alone

I always think this is a Bird York song!  It's nice though — I'd never heard of this band.

Not really strange, this band was active from 1996 - 2001.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Splashdown_(band)

However, there are preserved copies out there. See https://www.bebo.com/Profile.jsp?MemberId=7263929416

The artist has released their songs into the public, which is nice. Here are all their songs

Thank you for the links!  I don't really understand why they would surrender their library to free downloads, but I'll grab them as I can, and be very grateful.

Completely forgettable.

this reminds me of Olive on Trickle

https://www.drawbridge.com/splashdown/ - This site is now closed.

Absolutely, I was like "uh, surely Bill's not playing The Corrs?" While pleasant they're not exactly RP material but this is indistinguishable from them.

"... everyone's entitled to their wrong opinion."  {#Lol}

It's very nice - reminds me of Dar Williams...

All Splashdown albums are out of print but can be found here for free courtesy of the band. This particular track is off the never released CD "Blueshift" (click here)
I love this song! I haven't found a place where I can get it though.
Agreed, no more music from the cloned pod people! (quote="Jamunca wrote:

Pop nonsense. Sounds like it should be played on any station with call letters starting with a Q or having a "Mix" in the name.

Thought this was another band borrowing Tina Dico, but I see it ain't. A real nice voice, in any case.

Bill, These groovy songs are getting me going this morning. Please continue this upbeat foot tappin stuff.
Splashdown is a great band. Check out Need vs. Want from Stars&Garters, my personal favorite. It was tragic when they parted ways. They were originally on Castle Von Buhler records which is now defunct. You can read more about them at: (click here) And more tunes at: (click here) CvB was a great little record label. It was owned (at least in part) by Adam Buhler (the guitarist for the band). CvB was created to help bands get their start and was never meant to be a major distributor, so when Capitol records signed them they made Blueshift for them. There were problems with Capitol, and Blueshift was never released and the band broke up shortly after. If you were a fan at the time of the bands breakup you could enter a secret code to get a copy of Blueshift (which I was fortunate enough to do). You can read more at: (click here) It's a tragedy that I never got to see them live. Corwin
Corrs Lite. (And that's light!)
Not one of my favorite Splashdown songs, but coyotes LOVE Splashdown still the same!!
This seems to be one more band done in by the big label system. (From what I've gathered, Splashdown broke up largely due to stress over their label dragging its heels about releasing their album.) It makes me sad, because I've just discovered them but they've been gone for five years already :( Well, at least I still have Universal Hall Pass (www.universalhallpass.com), which seems to be continuing the legacy. I found this interesting and ironic quote in Splashdown's Lilith Fair profile (https://www.lilithfair.com/artists/splashdown/):
"We've heard all the horror stories about the music industry, but that wasn't our experience," adds Adam. "They put us in a room and didn't come back until six months later to see what we'd done."

The link below is broken, but I looked in the internet archive and found a very good link. From the site: "I came across and amazing band which broke up before it could be properly appreciated: Splashdown. Melissa Kaplan's vocals and lyrics are amazing, and Adam Buhler and Kasson Crooker do an amazing job with the music. Unfortunately, Splashdown ceased to be in 2001, when the members went their separate ways. Their second CD was never published, and their first CD and singles are impossible to find. The band however encourages the bootlegging and trading of their music over the Internet, as this is the only way to hear it. I have managed to collect almost every song they ever made, and they are all here to download, unless they become so popular that users exceed the 30GB/Month traffic quota." Here are their songs: https://www.sadena.com/music/splashdown/index.html Enjoy!
Schweet!
This is like Third Eye Blind with a female singer :/">

Wow, thanks. I just went and shotgunned the whole thing. I can't get enough of this.
Nice - Bill, any chance of playing any Universal Hall Pass?
I saw this band open for Moby at a free public show in Boston in August of 1999. This is first I've heard them since, and after reading about what became of them in the preceding comments, it only reinforces to me how awesome RP is.
