I can kill standing still
It's easy
I can scare with a stare
It's easy

Hey Ringo, It's sad though
Because it's hard to walk tall
When you're small
Whether dressed in disciplined style
Nevermind
When you're small
You walk as if you're falling

I attack from the back
Because it's easy
And I can assail
While wearing very nice jewellery

Oh hey Ringo, It's sad though
Because it's hard to walk tall
When you're small
Whether dressed in disciplined style
Nevermind
When you're small
You spend your life crawling

I burst into public bars
And I throw my weight around
And no one can even see me
No one can even see me
Nobody can see me
No one can see me

Success is just a mess, Oh

Hey gringo, It's sad though
Because it's hard to walk tall
When you're small
Whether dressed in disciplined style
Nevermind
When you're small
You're bound to look appalling

So compadre please do this for me
Compadre please weep for me
Compadre, compadre
Please weep for me

I can’t listen to his music without feeling ill

I've never heard this one. Wishing it could have stayed that way. What a bore.
Crackin' me up.

There are SUCH better Morrissey/Smiths tunes to play - why this?!  {#Rolleyes}

Ah, Morrissey - the Menopause Man whom so many middle-class menopausal men worship like a dyspeptic god. Fine songsmith, but an awful and vindictive prick of a man. His hatred of his Smiths colleagues who simply wanted a fair share of the band's revenues really leaves a nasty taste in the mouth, and his subsequent pronouncements/rants on various topics don't cover him in intellectual glory. A stuck-up arrogant moralist. Not one to be stuck in a lift with, particularly if you've only got a ham sandwich between you...

Ha ha! On the other hand Fred. . . I for one applaud that he is what he is. . . an interesting character in the sea of mundane that the world of music seems to be these days ;)
A unique talent worlds away from the generic trash his detractors worship.

So he's a role model for you then?

I think Morrissey is the only musician in the world that can get away with wearing a suit and holding a tommy gun on his album cover. What a bad-ass.

He looked more convincing prancing about with a flower.

Why is this song weird??

The song is clearly about ex-Smiths Drummer Mike Joyce ("Ringo" a la Ringo Star) who took both Morrissey & Johnny Marr to court to win back some $$$$$$$ because he felt he wasn't paid right during his time in The Smiths. Joyce won the case to Morrissey's dismay.

"walking tall when your small" refers to Morrissey feeling that Joyce is a hypocrite & pathetic. How can he walk around and be so proud when he lied & cheated in court just for some cash.

(FYI - Not my viewpoint but Morrissey's)

bump .... because I was wondering.  Significance to 7 dollar signs?
This song sounds like filler for Morrissey...especially since the rest of the album is excellent.

I can't emphasize how much I HATE HATE HATE his voice. If I wanted a bunch of whining non-stop in my ear I'd get a kid.
What you said.

sorry, I love the Smiths, but this is clearly Morrissey recycling some of his old tricks. :headshake:
True, but he gets by with this one anyway.
YAY I was wondering when I was going to hear Morrisseey on RP! this has made MY day

i hate this man with a passion. And it has nothing to do with the fact that an exboyfriend had a stupid, ugly shirt with his stupid, ugly face on it. Just that this man is stupid and ugly. GET A SECOND NAME!!!
I think Morrissey is the only musician in the world that can get away with wearing a suit and holding a tommy gun on his album cover. What a bad-ass.
SMOkin!
I thought maybe this had some reference to Steve Martin. Weird song, but I would not mute it. a solid, rockin' 5.
Huh. I met Mike Joyce. Seemed like a nice guy. Andy too. warderblu wrote:

:-kI gave it a 7 but I am sure I am being generous with my rating out of nostalgia feelings (i own evey smiths albulm and played them to death) I would rather hear an old Smiths tune than solo morissey anyday!
Please vomit in the provided receptacle.
did he really say "it's hard to walk tall when you're small?" ummmmmm ... sure, it's hard to dispute, but i don't think it would make the cut for a snapple cap ... is it just me?
weirdest than ever, but still lots of energy in Morrissey!
