He's been on a few blues cruises.  Once, at a sail away, he was set up on the outside deck just whaling away...  We were next to another cruise ship, everyone from that ship came out to the side rail to hear him play and jam with us.

See him live if you can!

Sounds like a blast, even if he was doing his Capt. Ahab imitation.

Good ol'bop! Except it sounds just a bit too clean, too "new"! But still dancin' at work!

My daughter of 4 plays free games on an andriod phone with the same type of background music. I have started to dislike this type of music.
Really really not my taste of music.
I've got happy feet!
Feet be still!
Smokin'! This guy is hot. Another first for me here on RP. Hot damn.
Damn, here I am working, and I have to get up and dance. Damn.
Nice!

LOL!
This is fun, but the sound quality is almost too good and clean. Makes me want to hear same thing only authentic.
Useless wanker, (censored) asshole.

Beautiful tone.  What a guitar!    And what a tune!
Sounds like an old Gibson or Gretsch archtop. Love the tone.

Thank God we've returned to the realm of musicians from the stonerland of reggae.

The groove flies far above, oblivious to the disturbance below.

Dancin' the jitterbug to this - what a great song!  Very big-band-ish and fun.{#Bananasplit}
This is just so sweet.

I haven't decided yet if I agree with you, but I must admit that's a great comment.
Intermixing smooth, slick fingering and quick chords a la Wes Montgomery...Love it! Finger smackin' goodness! Like lickin' your lips and fingers after some spicy goodness.
Corny. And exceedingly dull.
The guitar sound is great, it's so fun playing this way!! Strumming all the way down to the bridge, great sound!!

Great tunes! Howerever, I think I listen to this station to much, as my brain knows which tune comes next! (Marley to Thackery)

I've heard this sort of thing called "walking bass". For which I am a sucker.
the data entry may not be perfect, but it's swingin' oops - this was a remark about the chair dancing, not the music - loved it.

I have to concur on that.

Great finger-snapping, head-bobbing tune!
Wow - *great* tune!
Love the interpolation of Billie's Bounce (Charlie Parker) at the end -- Bird lives!
If your foot ain't movin' call 911.

Love love love it.
I saw Jimmy Thackery at the (now no longer) Twist and Shout in Bethesda a decade ago. The guy rocks.
Sweet!

Your memory must be impaired if you forgot to mention the hint of vomit that always accompanied the stale beer smell at that illustrious establishment.
The Double Door Inn!! Wow! Now there's a flashback!
Yeah the Hawks were great when he was the guitarist. He was the first guy I ever saw play through a wireless connection. It was freaky back then.
This brought back great memories of seeing and hanging out with The Nighthawks at the Double Door Inn in Charlotte, NC back in the 70's. What a wonderful live band! Jimmy still has it.
I thought hey "Ren & Stimpy" music, but scolling down I see Stratrjb did also, I'm not the only one.

It's not, but it's still a happy, happy, joy, joy sort of piece.

Saw the Nighthawks several times in the late 70's. I remember their first trip to Columbia, MO: They walked onstage to kick off the set, and the bass player was nearly electrocuted right there. WOW. Thackery knocked him off the mic stand and they ran offstage. They came back out about 20-30 minutes later and just KILLED. Rockin!!!
Caught him live last year..He can wail on the 6 string..
Blaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh..... I think this would be more enjoyable live than recorded.

booooooring!
at first I thought this was the "Ren & Stimpy" theme song!
I WANNA SWING & TWIRL... INTO A BLISSFUL WHIRL!!!!
What a fantastic sound! If this doesn't make you want to dance...

yeah! Play some nighthawks -my lps are getting worout!
What is an LP? Lol just kidding!!!
Anybody know why this is called Burford's Bop? That's my last name and I don't even use it anymore, because I do music professionally and it sounds so ugly. I thought it might be a tribute to some cool musician who had the nerve to use that name...maybe I should, too...
I saw JT about 10 times by now.....he's an awesome player....I've seen him in small clubs......he is a VERY dynamic player.....I've seen him play so quiet, where the band comes way down with him, to the point you can her the strings on his guitar being plucked!!....right from the stage(not thru his amp!)....awesome player....if you can see him live, do so......his recordings do get a little repetitive....live is where he shines....he is pure blues!!!
Can't stop my feet from tappin'
yeah! Play some nighthawks -my lps are getting worout!
Listening to RP has made me purchase Jimmy Thackery's live CD. Great tunes!!
At first glance, I thought the title was 'Buford's Burp'. Cool, swingtastic, head-noddin' tune.
Bill. You are depleting my checking account. Between this and that RjD2 Ghostwriter, I'm soon to be 2 cd's down in my coffers.
I had to quit typing and comment when I realized I was Boppin'! Great stuff!
hell yah!
Go go, daddy-o. Excellent tune. Got my toes wriggling.
Hearing Jimmy Thackery brings back memories of listening to the Nighthawks at the back room of the Varsity Grill in College Park. Ahhh, the smell of stale beer......
This goes particularly well with Macallan Elegancia ...
I dig it. Reminds me of Aztec Camera sauced with a little reverb and 'cajun' rockabilly
