New Order is the greatest......!
THIS song is surely NOT......

Too bad I can't get RP in the GTI. This would be perfect for a speed run on a twisty road.

Sure you can.  Plug an iPhone 3G in and stream it in your car.  Works great for me!

uh, what's wrong with 'just another eighties synth-pop band'? New Order is an off-shoot of Joy Division, and Ian Curtis was a brilliant song-writer. i have more appreciation for eighties synth-pop than a lot of the genres on the radio today!

New Order goes pop--quite good. Their singer doesn't have the strongest voice, which limits their emotional punch, but when they put out a driving beat it makes up for his limitations.
Heh. Just as this song began with the guitar riff, I was coming here to post "Wow, this sounds a lot like New Order." I totally forgot about their recent albums. Very nice modernization of that classic Peter Hook guitar sound.
...lots of new-to-me music this afternoon which i'm very much enjoying, including this...
Handcrafted Britpop by a legendary band! Nice to me. Still missing Joy Divison...

Doesn't have enough "PUNCH" for me to use in my 'vette but I can see a whole crew of high schoolers' rolling cruising on Sat. night and rocking their long hair back and forth. It is a nice catchy tune tho'.

Meh.
quite a nice groove! good tune to drive around with, indeed.
From the BBC website this morning: New Order bassist reveals split Legendary Manchester pop band New Order have split up, according to bassist Peter Hook. Speaking about his involvement in Perry Farrell's new group Satellite Party, Hook told Xfm the band had broken up. He and frontman Bernard Sumner had gone their separate ways and are no longer working together, he said.
this must be one of the worst New Order singles ever
Sounds like about 20 mph to me.
As one who was a never a New Order fan... but one who really enjoys "The Soundtrack Of Our Lives" and "Black Rebel Motorcycle Club", I have to say... This has a TSOOL and BRMC feel ... and I dig it.
They Rock way better than the last 2 "artists" played here

they were not rockers?? have ever heard about a band called joy division?..... well, I know this is not the best song of get ready (wich were already their last great album, better than siren's call)but they were absolutely avantgarde rockers in the past and avantgarde electronic pop in the 80's
Please no more new New Order.
It's ok but I liked them better the first time--when they were called The Smithereens.
At least it's a rock song. I hate the poppy New Order crap from the 80s.

whaddafuck. this is so goddamn weak. i use to love this band back in the day. they are not, and never were, rockers. this is not their forte. it just does not work for them.

was gonna say the same thing. it's been along time since temptation and everything's gone green -- my personal favorite ep. frame of reference is always problematic

True. But whereas old NO didn't get played because it was too good for radio, this stuff doesn't get played because even Clear Channel idiots can tell... this stuff bites. There's butter. Then there's margarine.
Sorry, more like 15 MPH. This song never really gets out of first gear for me, to carry the car metaphor a bit further.
Reminds me of children's pop I listened to on my toy record player in the second grade.
Crank it up! Hard to believe that this is New Order.
Haven't listened this album in a while, it surprised me. I think "Someone Like You" is my favorite cut.
NEW ORDER RULES!

"Hippie" must mean something else in German.

Funny, I've always thought it was a pretty boy.
I WANT to like this... just not their best effort.

Yeah, these guys know how to make catchy pop music.

I'm a longtime fan, and I think this is their greatest album. While they have great and superb songs here & there, this one as a whole is just fantastic. And yes, I've heard almost all of it. I'd put Low Life second and Technique third, but not if you include the first Electronic CD. The video for this tune is pretty funny.
Great song. 8/10
tasty
Next to Crystal, this is my favourite NO song. I really cannot pinpoint why... it just clicks with me. I find its raw, hardly restrained energy irresistible...
well, i liked the video:)
So, it seems that while it's New Order, it's not anyone's favorite New Order. Just think about it. Where else can you turn on the 'Radio' and hear ANY New Order? Wouldn't mind if it was followed up by some Pulp, though.

While I still like most any New Order, I would still like to hear some of their older stuff played more often. Come to think of it, I'd like to hear some Joy Division too.
Yah ! And some Shriekback too while you're about it...

Mine too, but this is formulaic ... Please, please ... what about a blast of 'Ceremony' or 'Regret', to name just two ...
Still my favorite band from the '80s. :sunny.gif:
