(Shoo-bop, shoo-bop)
Hello, stranger
(ooh) It seems so good to see you back again
How long has it been?
(ooh, seems like a mighty long time)
(shoo-bop, shoo-bop, my baby, ooh)
It seems like a mighty long time
Oh-uh-oh, I my, my, my, m
I'm so glad
You stopped by to say "hello" to me
Remember that's the way it used to be
Ooh, it seems like a mighty long time
(shoo-bop, shoo-bop, my baby, ooh)
It seems like a mighty long time

I Agree comlpetely!! Thanx RP! PS: Samantha Fish also does a great cover of this song. It is on the RP playlist!
Damn ... Heard this in the background from the other room and thought it was Barbara Lewis ... But ... something ... not quite right. And saw it was Queen Latifah.
Very nice cover. And kudos for digging into some modern R&B.

"Feels like I'm falling in love..." - no? Who did it first?

Well spoke.
I think it's official: Bill, you kick ass.
Well spoke.
Love this tune. The Barbara Lewis original still breaks my heart.
Sweet.
It's been another 7 years, time for Bill to scratch his Dana Owens itch
This is Queen Latifah? Wow...good cover...I dig
Great mixer! Keep it eclectic! And a well done revisit to the original, very true to the feeling.

I would love to hear the original Barbara Lewis version sometime.
I would, too! I thought this was, Queen Latifah does such a wonderful job of recreating the arrangement and singing of the original.
Oh good Gawd no. Though I must surely have fired iTunes up to the wrong station. But no . . .
I would love to hear the original Barbara Lewis version sometime.
I dig this song! though I think I like the original better. It had more emotion. QL has a nice voice; I never actually heard her sing before.

I had no idea Queen could actually hold a note like that ....
Well, look at her, um lungs.
"me and... me and... Mrs... Jonesssssss"
Oops, wrong song. Wonder if that'll be next?
Nifty!

Nice song, and a pleasant voice. But can it compare to the Barbara Lewis original? IMHO, no way.
No - it simply cannot compare - lacks the soul, heart and feel of the original.........
I had no idea Queen could actually hold a note like that - and what a note it is. Solid.

how droll, how delightfully sarcastic. Do favor us with more of your devastating utterances.
First heard this CD in a shop in NYC. I did not recognize it to be her at all. It is an excellent recording.
Do her friends address her as "Queen?" Like, "Hey Queen, could you pass the salt?"
I think it's official: Bill, you kick ass.

Nice song, and a pleasant voice. But can it compare to the Barbara Lewis original? IMHO, no way.

I thought it was the original. But that's okay--great song. Imitation is the highest form of flattery.
First time hearing this. A very nice rendition.
anniebear wrote: I really love how Dana Owens (aka Queen Latifah) has matured as an artist, what a wonderful voice. Ahhhhhh, this is superfine :D
i TOTALLY agree! she's such a terrific artist and woman and confident in all she does and have you seen her on the talk shows? she walks out on stage and becomes the center of energy. can a person be cool and hot at the same time?
What a nice tune, well done too.
I think i heard this in an elevator today.
Yawn.

Nice.
Let me elaborate.
Wow. I really like this song, and I think it's cool that BillG plays it.
Nicely done, Dana. You sound like a grown up. And this song reminds me of summers by the pool in NY.

ewwww nooooo me no like. Maybe she can sing but the song is sickly sweet....
I submitted this song just last week. It never even went into the LRC, went directly to the playlist. I guess they REALLY liked it. Ive got another song that has been on the LRC for about 3 or 4 months now.
As for the person who asked why it makes the playlist, its damn good music. Open your ears to more different kinds of music and you will not regret it.

I did not hear this song so I can't rate it but I did hear her sing (notice I did not say rap) I think it was the grammy's a couple months ago. She has a damn good voice, now if she can stay away from that rap garbage....

how does this make the cut to be on the playlist??
Hey...don't be hatin'
I was listening to this and did a double take when I saw who it was. I thought it was a great vocal, and truely deserving of RP.

What would your criteria be?
Dang... I does like this cover. She got's the sweet delivery down. Nice accompaniment, too.
Nothing wrong with this version.....a smooth Smokey Robinson Mowtown sound, nice feel to the song, pleasant....thumps up. (You go girl!)
wow - Dana can sing, and this song always gives me chills for some subconscious reason. The B3 makes it sweet and lonely at the same time.
Ha! Thought it was the original (so why bother?) but it's still really good. She's great in Living Out Loud, the movie starring Holly Hunter, too.
