If today was not an endless highway
If tonight was not a crooked trail
If tomorrow wasn't such a long time
Then lonesome would mean nothing to me at all
Yes, and only if my own true love was waiting
If I could hear his heart softly pounding
Yes, and only if he was lying by me
Would I lie in my bed once again
I can't see my reflection in the waters
I can't speak the sounds that show no pain
I can't hear the echo of my footsteps
Or remember the sound of my own name
Yes, and only if my own true love was waiting
If I could hear his heart softly pounding
Yes, and only if he was lying by me
Would I lie in my bed once again
There's beauty in that silver singing river
There's beauty in that sunrise in the sky
But none of these and nothing else can touch the beauty
That I remember in my true love's eyes
Yes, and only if my own true love was waiting
If I could hear his heart softly pounding
Yes, and only if he was lying by me
Would I lie in my bed once again
If tonight was not a crooked trail
If tomorrow wasn't such a long time

I saw them in concert recently (first time was some years ago). They are really really good, all three of them. I'm a huge Chris Thile/Punch Brothers fan and he was great as always, but Sara and Sean contribute their equal shares very competently.
Very nice song. I enjoy very much. Very young hear voice.
I have never heard this song before (by anyone); thank you, RP!

Nope, Dylan was older than 13 when he wrote this.
Not in mental age though; as the rest of his "canon" testifies.

Reminiscent of Melanie’s ‘Brand New Key’ the first 45 record I ever bought in Singapore 1974~ish with my own pocket money, from KC Tangs I believe! Wow such wholesome melodies and memories❤️
Great voice that will sound ever better when her tonality builds with nice wines, true friends, and unbridled passion with her true love 💕
Very Nice....original
Nice. A beautiful voice she has.
Nice set Willy

sounds like it was written by a thirteen year old girl.
