The moon is not only beautiful
It is so far away
The moon is not only ice cold
It is here to stay

When I lay me down
Will you still be around
When they put me six feet underground
Will the big bad beautiful you be around

Everyone says they know you
Better than you know who
Everyone says they own you
More than you do

When I lay me down
Will you still be around
When they put you six feet underground
Will the big bad beautiful moon be around

Cause the moon is not only beautiful
It is so far away
The moon is not only ice cold
It is here to stay

Everyone says they know you
Better than you know who
Everyone says they own you
More than you do

Satelite's gone up to the sky...
This song makes me think of Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up."

I did not like this at first, then it grew on me and was quite beautiful in its own weird little way.

That's certainly an understatement.

ooooh oooh ooh, and it makes me wonder.

{#Lol}

hmmm, jimi, jimi, jimi who?
I like the guitar lick, but would have interest in hearing a cover from another artist . . .

By the way, how's your sophomore year in high school going so far?
Excellent.

BWAAAAAAAAHAAAHAHHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! so infectiously funny!
Perfectly Dreamy

You can hear his experience in every note. He does a lot with very little here. This is the kind of guy we see less and less of and whose generation is swiftly disappearing. Nice to see someone like Cat is using people like this. ***EDIT***No, I didn't mean using them like THAT. Get yer minds outta the gutter. :)
This qualifies as orchestral arrangement for ol' Cat.
Yowsers. You get a 3.

Yes...everytime...
Dull, dull, dull. This girl puts me to sleep.
Reminds me of Concrete Blonde.

When the tune first started I thought it was a cover of a tune I had heard before.

I don't care what anyone else has to say about Cat Power. I love her. She is an amazing songwriter, and this song is GREAT.

well no shit sherlock. great skills you have there, how'd ever figure that one out. and no, not a mouse. a rat. rat fink is in my pocket. and we think RP SUCKS A BIG TITTY for playing this crap.
Hey! What's wrong with sucking a big titty?!? Maybe you ought to try it; you might not be so cranky! @;-D
This is not one of the best songs on the record. It was an impulse buy for me, based solely on an NPR All Songs Considered spot and it has been heavy in my relaxation rotation - although not work day music at all.
You've definitely labeled yourself within the RP community as a "black sheep". I mean it's one thing to critique a song with lucid, well thought out comments. It's quite another to make blanket statements about RP and/or the artist they choose to play. Clearly, this is not the place for you. Grow up!! tony620d wrote:

This was quite a yawn...getting a little sick of it. Needed to wake up. The Pretenders will help. C'mon, let's get a little rowdier!

Well, I'll admit, with your masterful command of written English, it *is* sometimes hard to discern your exact meaning. I often worry that I've missed one of your many subtleties. So I'm glad I got that one right. I have to wonder, though, why you and your "rat fink" continue to listen to RP, since you two seem to hate so much of what's played. By the way, how's your sophomore year in high school going so far? And is this your second or third time through it?

Um... Johnette is/was the lead singer for Concrete Blonde? I don't know this incarnation but recognized her voice immediately. Makes me wanna hear something from Mexican Moon.

Cat Power is genius...Although more songs from Moon Pix and What Would the Community Think albums would be ideal
"Cat Power" is what Caterpillar once used as a slogan, maybe still do. Found on caps, stickers, sides of bulldozers etc. Wondering about the connection... They from Peoria? Like bulldozers? Caterpillar diesel engines? Stong, high torque? earthmoving? hmm...
Kinda reminds me of Modern Romance by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs (in the FWIW column)
seems like i've heard other stuff by this artist that i liked but thisa onea isa noa gooda fora mea
I think she sounds like Rachel Yamagata. Me likey.
Me thought Lou Reed sang this song...
This is the first thing I've heard by this heavily hyped artist - and I'm not impressed. What's the big deal?
Insert icon of someone yawning and falling asleep thrice.
the name of this band is such trickery. when i first heard of them i figured they were an exciting all girl, power band. mostly when i hear cat power i want nap time. cat nap. or power nap. CAT POWER NAP! ...hey maybe thats where the band name came from? they were all really tired. too tired to pick their instruments all the way up and play a proper tune. OH SNAP! bo-ring!!!

Her, or Concrete Blond. Not bad, but a little slow when trying to get through an afternoon at work.

I hear Johnette Napolitano in there too, 7 out of the chute.
