One night to be confused
One night to speed up truth
We had a promise made
Four hands and then away
Both under influence
We had divine scent
To know what to say
Mind is a razorblade
To call for hands of above
To lean on
Wouldn't be good enough
For me, no
One night of magic rush
The start a simple touch
One night to push and scream
And then relief
Ten days of perfect tunes
The colors red and blue
We had a promise made
We were in love
To call for hands of above
To lean on
Wouldn't be good enough
For me, no
To call for hands of above
To lean on
Wouldn't be good enough
And you, you knew the hand of the devil
And you, kept us awake with wolf's teeth
Sharing different heartbeats
In one night
To call for hands of above
To lean on
Wouldn't be good enough
For me, no
To call for hands of above
To lean on
Wouldn't be good enough

Love this song....
Yup, still stands up as a great cover today - I'll be another requester for the original to be played too - even straight after this!
it's an acoustic guitar masterpiece. Have tried learning the tab, and is great fun playing, but my brain isn't wired the same way as José's to play it as effortlessly as he does. Also glad to have seen him play live ... he's just brilliant.
Great song. It's a cover ya'll. The original is also great but more electronic/techno in tone.

this is an absolute masterpiece
There isn't a better song for the afternoon doldrums at work while your tummy digests lunch and you just completed a huge project, this is so incredibly soothing and perfect for the moment.
Bill, can't you see that I have work to do!
and again and again

Damn... I feel like adjusting this from 9 to a 10. It still is one of the best covers I ever heard and moves me every single time.

All these years later, this one stands the test of time. Still gives me goosebumps.
We should launch a 2nd Radio Paradise where The Knife - Heartbeats can be played without harshin' the mellow of this place. I think it'd be awesome.

Wonderful cover of The Knife. I heard this track on a café a few years back and just dropped all focus on table discussions and froze in astonishment.
It's a snowy February here in Ohio, but whenever I hear this song, I'm transported back to happy, quiet summer nights in western Oregon. This is just a fantastic tune.
Yes! I just looked this one up to see when it might be played next. It really sums up my mood riding home from my trip last weekend. Perfect timing, thank you!

This song or should I say this version of this song always makes me feel good.
Everyone in my trailer park thinks this is probably the best cover they have ever heard.
Wonderful song.
So Pretty. Love the Guitar.
Excellent.
I keep thinking this is Nick Drake when the song first starts, and that's definitely a good thing.
Also, this cover is much MUCH better than the original, although it has its own charm. I just don't much care for her voice.

I finally heard the original in the car last week. The whole time I was trying to figure out which familiar song I was listening to. At first I thought it was a very bad cover of a song I love. I soon realized it was the original of a song I love. What a difference between the two! I am incurably biased towards Jose's cover now. Score one for Bill.
This is a beautiful cover, but the original by Knife is even better IMHO. Would be nice to hear that one played here too some time.

José does some amazing covers and Heartbeats is a good example.
I saw him live at the Perth International Arts Festival earlier this year and it still sends a shiver up my spine when I think of it.
The crowd stood there in awe for the whole performance - nobody wanted to breath, blink or move in case they missed a single note of it. It sounded sooooooooo good.
