Well the first dance cost me a quarter,
and the second dance cost me my heart
Now I'm here on this barstool,
like a circle it ends where it starts
And it goes something like this
Always a swing and a miss
Well I ain't seen you since I drank all night
Now my eyes are black 'cause I fought all night
I come stumblin' home to sleep alone but it's alright
yeah it's alright
And it's hard to tell what it is and what it's not
Until it is something that you ain't got
It's something you ain't got
It's something you ain't got
Well I woke up hung over in the squalor
where I make my home
Ate my heart out for breakfast,
then I met the day stoned
And it goes something like this
Always a swing and a miss
Well I ain't seen you since I drank all night
Now my eyes are black 'cause I fought all night
I come stumblin' home to sleep alone but it's alright
yeah it's alright

Ah, it's always Cracker when I hear something I like and look up to the screen. I like the only song radio played, 'Low', back in the day, but nice to hear lots of their other stuff here on RP. Yeah!
Better than Isbell.
really pathetic lyrics "my eyes are black cuz I fought all night" just doesn't cut it for me.
Reminds me of Gerry Rafferty - possibly
What a toe tapper song!
Radio Cracker.
Not too bad. It's actually a very logical move from 'What Light?' from Wilco. Nice work RP.
Now his eyes are black 'cause he farts all night? Definitely one for the misheard lyrics archive.

I like the male/female vocals complimenting each other. Her high voice sounds great with his.

Many people in this thread are bitching about RP selling out, etc. For me, as someone who doesn't listen to broadcast radio at all, I find the song selection very refreshing. I don't mind that Bill plays hits, because they can still be good songs and the hits are definitely the small majority of tracks played here. I'll never claim to like all of the selections on RP since I don't like Bob Dylan, am apathetic about the Beatles, and don't really care for reggae, still, If RP has "sold out" you'd never know by the lack of commercials and adverts.

We just saw Cracker, Friday night playing on a stage in a parking lot of a mega grocery store in Hobart Indiana. And for those that think that is a bad thing, it ain't! They were as good as when we saw them in a midwest pub many years ago. They rocked the stage, gave back to the audience, played obscure Camper songs and popular Cracker songs. This band is all about the fans. And we will remain Cracker fans forever.

Love Cracker and Camper VB
This is a great song - first time I heard it though I thought it might be Barney Bentall (obscure Canadian reference, most won't know what I'm talking about, but those that do - what do you think?)

Sure enough. They 'feel' a bit like each other, though Cracker can do different styles, unlike the one-paced Wilco. Cracker's Sidi Ifni is distinctive, genre-busting and memorable, and they do some pretty rockin' numbers. This isn't one of them, sadly, and the Nottingham jury has to downgrade it from snoozeville to irritating (much as many RP folk think of the jury, I'm sure).

Sorry, Poose, you need to cite a source. I've never, ever heard of The Band having taken the name, The Crackers.
From Wikipedia:
The members of the Band first came together as they joined rockabilly singer Ronnie Hawkins' backing group, The Hawks, one by one between 1958 and 1963. Upon leaving Hawkins in 1964 they were known as The Levon Helm Sextet (the sixth member being sax player Jerry Penfound), then Levon and the Hawks (without Penfound). In 1965, they released a single on Ware Records under the name the Canadian Squires, but returned as Levon and the Hawks for a recording session for Atco later in 1965.<
The erstwhile group that influenced so many others, The Band, originally called themselves The Crackers.

There´s a song call "Cinderella", i think ( there isn´t in the credits of the album, it´s the last one, like an extra track), in a "kerosene hat" album , and when i hear it, still being impressed by the powerful voice of the female singer. It´s a terrific song. Anyone could say me her name and if she has some more work edited?

Yet another crappy, boring, nasal song by Cracker. Why do these guys get so much air time on here? There are much more talented bands out there that are more deserving.
