This story ends
In bloodshed
The face I love
The city I'm from
The persons I've met
The persons I've let down
But a hero never turns around
It's nice to see you're moving on
I know it's hard to carry on
But it's just never what it was
In the Beginning
How did this start?
And where did we begin
In a ball of fire
And stars and suns
And that brings me here, now
Where my heart's caving in
A tornado whips in around the poles
And it's raining
In a Ball of Fire
In bloodshed
The face I love
The city I'm from
The persons I've met
The persons I've let down
But a hero never turns around
It's nice to see you're moving on
I know it's hard to carry on
But it's just never what it was
In the Beginning
How did this start?
And where did we begin
In a ball of fire
And stars and suns
And that brings me here, now
Where my heart's caving in
A tornado whips in around the poles
And it's raining
In a Ball of Fire

thought i heard a moody blues guitar riff in there...
Think I read something this week that The Stills are calling it quits...
I'm fairly neutral regarding their body of work, but I do like this song. It's funny how you can create one decent tune, but everything else before and after is ... uhm ... not really noteworthy.

Susan Cowsill is still performing around New Orleans. Okay, I see what you did there. Not just tedious, but also waaaayyyy toooo long.

Wow. Now that cover art strikes me as something new, not borrowed. Congrats to the photographer for an original idea.

I'm surprised to discover I haven't ever rated this song. I have to give it an 8 just for the hook.

Way best Stills song to my ears is Lola Stars and Stripes, but that's not on Bill's playlist.

This album kind of sucked, but this track (its intro in particular) is quite excellent.

LOL! Sorry horstman. I don't doubt your version of events. I just find it so funny.
BTW, you can always give in and just invest some effort learning French.... or get up earlier in the morning for that Adirondacks parking spot.
Incidentally, if you like the mass murders from Montreal, check out the ones we have here in Vancouver. Being more eco-sensitive, mass murders in these parts like to recycle body parts to the pigs.
So how is your Cantonese?
LOL!

French Canadians are (as a whole) an arrogant group.
I don't know Poose, it seems like a lot of bad things come from Montreal other than mass murderers. Like most of its citizens. Hope you are not of that group.

I've had nothing but good experiences in Quebec and in Montreal, despite being an Ontarian who doesn't speak a lick of French. In fact, I don't know where you would have encountered that attitude in Montreal... I find abour 80% of the population there can speak English, and I've never felt slighted because I don't speak French.
Quebec is a beautiful place, and generally speaking, the people are great.
ooooh, Baracuda!

Sure I'm a fan, and a long-time one: I was at the opening Expos game in Parc Jarry, Montréal, in 1969. In fact, I was at Expo 67 in 1967 from which the Expos got their name.

They've got heart (pun intended, based on intro).
Very Tumbleweed Connection-ish first coupla chords.
Sounding just like Guster...

Very nice. Always a pleasure to discover bands like this...
This entire album is FANTASTIC! Support little bands like the Stills and go see them on tour. They've really found their sound on this album, instead of starting off like the Interpol wannabe band that they were.
When I heard the first two or three chords, I thought it was Barracuda by Heart.
To be honest, I logged in just after this song was over...
On the other hand, I didn't want to miss my chance to be the first to write a comment!
Based on my personal rating system, it gets a six. That's because I think all music on Radio Paradise deserves at least a six at the outset.
Upon actually *hearing* the tune, we'll see if this one bumps itself up or drags itself down...
I never noticed very many guitar riffs from The Moody Blues - generally the mellotron drowned everything else out.
