I vow that it's goodbye
I vow that it's goodbye and God bless
Why did we have to assume
We're exactly the same?
O no, talking about yourself
I vow that it's goodbye to the old ways
Those stories were a good read
They were dumb as well
I could never be seen
Falling down on my knees crawling
O no, talk about a sell
O as the heavens shudder baby
I belong to you
O they said you get what you deserve
And all they said was true
So is this what it's come to?
Am I cold or just a little bit warm?
O well
Just give me an easy life and a peaceful death
I vow that it's goodbye and God bless
Why did we have to assume
We're exactly the same?
O no, talking about yourself
I vow that it's goodbye to the old ways
Those stories were a good read
They were dumb as well
I could never be seen
Falling down on my knees crawling
O no, talk about a sell
O as the heavens shudder baby
I belong to you
O they said you get what you deserve
And all they said was true
So is this what it's come to?
Am I cold or just a little bit warm?
O well
Just give me an easy life and a peaceful death

I was totally smitten with Harriet Wheeler back in the day.

One of my first CD purchases. Her voice just entranced me at first listen.
loaned the CD to my friend Paul and never got it back. :(

And then they become Mondays. Sad...
Man, I miss these guys. The kids must be all grown up by now. Time to get the band back together and make some new music!!

And just like that the day got a little better
What a shame for us that they called it a day all those years ago.....I believe to enjoy a family, so wonderful for them, but I'm still not over it.....she has the loveliest voice!!
Love the last line. 🥃
Loved The Sundays, dreamy late 80's/early 90s melodic indie....just how I like it!
So much joy hearing this come on RP. A dear friend recently lost his battles with substance abuse and depression. We loved listening to all of the The Sundays albums while in college. Music has the ability to take us back to a time and place so vividly.
each sing is a jewel !!!!!
Here's where the story ends...
Love this…
A great song from a great band during a great year! I was a newlywed married to whom I thought was my True Love, I was doing Grad School, learning more Nihongo, and teaching Creative Writing at C.U. up the street, had some nice plants growing in my storage closet, my best friend Kevin was just a few doors away in the same complex; my head was just floating in the breeze, man... But Life, like a black hole, is an atom-shredding experience, and -- What in the freaking world happened to the time? Kevin now lives a few miles away in a bigger place with his vastly expanded family. I'm back in the same place, and happy to be, though many things have changed -- except the way the mountains and music make me feel. While I was here in Boulder, as well as in Japan, with the ex-, The Sundays were always in the rotation, whether at home or on one of countless adventures, and it thrills and fills me with such memories every time I hear them... Thanks, RP!

I love the music I hear on RP- I would like to request more fast paced music on Friday afternoon to get me through this work dayI do really like the Sundays I own this album, btw
Haven't heard this in ages...she has such a lovely voice.

Never heard this before, nice!
I just heard this song for the first time tonight, at least consciously. I have this CD but apparently didn't give it much attention (RP pointed me in this direction). For one of a number of songs on an album, the lyrics and music are pretty damn good. I think that musicians, and artists in general, produce lots of work that somehow gets ignored, and thus the work that went into it is not recognized. But a simple read of the lyrics tells me that this was not a casual composition. A buzzed thought?

I can get that.

Loved this band then, still love them now. I saw them in concert in SF way back in the early 90's. Had the biggest schoolboy crush on Harriet Wheeler. It's just too bad they stopped making music.
Wow! Does this song take me back to the good old college days or what? I had the biggest crush on Harriet Wheeler back then. Awesome song!
Love this band, especially on cold days. And yes, I'm also in love with their debut album but sounds like I should get to know this album as well...
A super band-surprised only 4/5 tracks of them on RP

Sort of a Sixpence None The Richer feel - very cool.

I think their first record was their best (that is a cliche I know, but that is what I think.)
Great tune from perhaps one of the greatest (and one of the most underated) bands of the 90s.

Not sure why so many folks like her voice. Take away the electronics and you've got air.
I like The Sundays, she has a beautiful voice, especially on Wild Horses.
Bill, please play more of The Sundays. I love this band. Thanks.
Haven't heard this in years. Just a lovely little song.
Good to hear some Sundays on RP
I just love love love Harriet Wheeler.
*sigh*
First impression: "This sounds like something right out of the LRC!"
Not bad, I look forward to hearing a few more times to adjust my rating some.
This has always been one of my favorite groups
Love her voice. Kind of soothing and haunting at the same time....
