Oh gorgeous thing,
when you gonna get up there and sing?
when you gonna get up there and take your place on stage?
'cause a talent, is a terrible thing to waste
it goes faster than you think
even for such a gorgeous thing
there's no excuse in tender age
get your face on a glossy page
'cause one like yours would be a shame to waste
oh gorgeous thing,
when you gonna get up there and play?
i heard you strumming yesterday
so watch this space
'cause hands like yours, would be a shame to waste
oh gorgeous thing,
fame is the new royalty
your blood the richest blue i've seen
well at least,
it's between you and steve mcqueen
mmmyeah

Repulsive lack of personal responsibility.
We are all human. So what. Stand up, be a man.

Our cat 'Dillon' has several nicknames including 'CatDog', but his new one is 'Bullitt', because he's about as cool as Steve McQueen. The 60# pit mix comes running at him? Flops over on his side.
c.
Wailing Jennys with lots more wail.
Understated banjo. Not something you get to say often.
7 down to 3
A weak rating of 7 to me

(a) Nod and say, "Not my style, man, but it's cool you're doing your own thing." (b) Punch the musicians in the face (c) Jump on his bobbed Triumph and cruise into Salinas looking for chicks.

This song is pretty non descript, but Steve Mcqueen was cool and enjoyed reading the comments about him below.
Eerie, almost uncanny, but not quite. :)
Beautiful, and mournful.

Put on the Sheryl Crow rocker named for him on C'Mon, C'Mon. CafeRacer wrote:

(a) then (c). Much too cool for (b). And if (b) was required, he'd get Britt or Chico to handle it.

Nice clawhammer banjo progression.
I don't understand the question.
This would be Johnny Yuma's ride off into the sunset song.

The Audreys have a new CD out in Australia, called "When The Flood Comes". It's getting great reviews down here in OZ. Hope you international guys can get hold of it somehow.
I just got a copy (directly from their website) and really like it, as much as this one. I've uploaded a couple songs, but they haven't been reviewed yet.

Me too. It's such a fantastic album. It's a shame it's so difficult to get here in the US. You'll not see it in a record store, that's for sure. It's worth the extra trouble to buy it, though. I love this album.

...listening a bit more closely to the lyrics this time through, i think she's getting herself quite a bit worked up over him...
...him being the subject of this song, not steve mcqueen...
but this song was played yesterday........gimme a break.
Go Steve, GO!

Sounds like an American version of Sinead O. playing wi David Grissom. Good stuff.
I read your comment and had to listen.
You're right.
Another album to buy someday.
Awww, I just ordered this (though the RP/Amazon link, of course) and LOVE the whole cd!!
Would never have heard of them, except for RP!

Apparently a lot of people think of that as well. Ford is coming out with a 2008 special edition Bullitt Mustang. Only 7,000 will be produced.

I'm going to have to get this cd ... soon.
Another one of those bands Bill plays that I always say to myself: "This is great. Who are they?"
coolies
Pretty voice

I want this album in a bad way.
yeah, definitely get it. it's a solid album. i had to order it directly from their distributor in australia, so it took a while but it was worth the wait.
there's a band called PREFAB SPROUT that has an album with the name STEVE MCQUEEN.
These last 4 songs - like them or leave them - have flowed seamlessly into each other. Nice work Bill - as always!
The Audreys - You & Steve McQueen
Yoshida Bothers - Overland Blues
Lost at Last - Ocean of Mercy
Hevia - Son Del Busgosu
It has absolutely nothing to do with the movie, but every time I think of Steve McQueen, I think of Bullett and the world's greatest car chase. So, by association, this song gets a 7 (at least.)
Cool! I've heard this band on RP enough now to know who it is without even checking. Thank you RP for keeping me in the know on the hip and cool.
Speaking of Steve McQueen, is there anything from the Tao of Steve soundtrack that can be uploaded?
New Audreys!
