Kothbiro (rain is coming)
Auma do you hear what I say
The rain is on it's way
Return our cattle home
Yaye the children
What is it that you think you do?
The rain is on it's way
Return our cattle home.

Hey, Radio Paradise, thank you for what has been a morning of absolutely gorgeous music-we appreciate you. This isn't surprising, of course, but still warranted a mention :)

Albeit a bit belated it’s really nice to know! Thanks for sharing the information.
This is just so beautiful.

What always crosses my mind when hearing music like this, whether I like it or not, is is there going to be someone to preserve it?

RP is helping to preserve it.  That is why we come here.   Thanx RP!

FFS, Bill! Mske it stop!
Hauntingly beautiful!  Truly a song for the soul.
Feels like a traditional shepherds song... no politics, no religion, no agenda, just: let it rain and bring the herd home safe. Yours to interpret deeper meaning into it, or not. Simplicity.
Medicine for cure.
this song restores  my faith in humanity.
such a kind voice.
Lovely
I enjoy this as beautiful background music to my day
absolutely gorgeous
This dude has a smoooooth voice and a very shiny napper :o)
Solid 10 for me.  Just hauntingly gorgeous.
I find this one "gripping" for lack of a better word. Made me pay attention.
BORING
LONG
TEDIOUS
Love how the instrumentation lets you hear the rain.
"He found him in Mombasa, in a bar room drinking gin."
haunting in A minor
I never get tired of this track, it always makes me stop what I am doing and take a moment to remember what life is about- thanks for a great series of tracks this morning RP!
NICE!!!

There's something incredibly serene about this track, it takes me somewhere else... I *love* it.
Wonderful!
I was sorry to read he died at only 63 :(
So captivating and magical. Love it.
Beautiful
Beautiful ...
Thank You B&R

His voice is beautiful!
this was a song where I thought the whole was less thn the sum of its parts. Each aspect was skillful, but I found it repetitive rather than hypnotic. This despite the sweet vocals etc.

As a hearder  of cows, I wonder why he needs to bring the cows in, they're not going to blow away!

but I like the song none the less.

He's a cow whisperer, not a cow hearder.

WOW! What a beautiful song...

Beautiful. Atmospheric.
Captivating!
Sitting on the terrace this evening in Mexico with a warm, tropical, light breeze, looking at the ocean and the lights of the old town, a Margaretta and a nice cigar at hand, this song fits the mood perfectly. I stick by my rating of 9.
Long live RP.

THIS!
Excellent segue from Lost on the River from the New Basement Tapes.
VERY, VERY pretty sound!
Thanks Bill for such a beautiful calming song
everytime I hear this I am transported to a world I know nothing about but want to absorb in its entirety.
Beautiful.
The Constant Gardener brought me here.
Come on RP, this song has been WAY overplayed.
I have had this song on CD for years ....as Geoffrey Oreyema.  Yes....the album is Exile..you are playing it now!!  Anyway, beautiful!
Wow, I was sure that was Geoffrey Oryema.  Beautiful music.

Thank you, I will definitely look into it!

Pretty, but let's give Geoffrey Oryema his due for having created almost exactly this sound.

Makes me want to see the movie again.

Every song in the RP library has some "1" votes.
Beautiful juxtaposition of rhythm and melody. Rain is on it's way. So simple and haunting.
Melodic and memorable, this gives me chills.

SO good and soothing. Makes me feel like I'm in different time & dimension.
Beautiful and haunting.  I'm gonna have to buy one of his albums.  Recommendations from one of his fans?
Gorgeous.....
Always puts me in a trance every time this song plays.
Spartan music at its best.
Absolutly beautiful.

This artist has nothing to do with Mali.  Ayub Ogada is Luo, from Kenya.  Other side of the continent.  Gorgeous tune.

soothing and beautiful for my exhausted-yet-creative mood on a friday evening.......
I feel that he's singing the song of my youth..I still don't understand it, but I miss it ;)

I'll second the spoiler alert below — and I'll also strongly second the recommendation for the movie (The Constant Gardener). It's absolutely brilliant — sad, joyous, painful, and achingly beautiful, with gorgeous location scenery (in Kenya) and stellar performances from Ralph Fiennes and Rachael Weiss.

I agree...

that movie came out in 2005— three years before you posted this...  seems like a long time ago, now...  time flies when we're having fun...  sigh...

love this music...
