Got a secret
Can you keep it?
Swear this one you'll save
Better lock it in your pocket
Taking this one to the grave
If I show you then I know you won't tell what I said
'Cause two can keep a secret if one of them is dead
Why do you smile like you've been told a secret?
Now you're telling lies 'cause you have sworn to keep it
But no one keeps a secret
No one keeps a secret
Why when do our darkest deeds do we tell?
They burn in our brains, become a living hell
Because everybody tells
Everybody tells
Got a secret
Can you keep it?
Swear this one you'll save
Better lock it in your pocket
Taking this one to the grave
If I show you then I know you won't tell what I said
'Cause two can keep a secret if one of them is dead
Look into my eyes, now you're getting sleepy
Are you hypnotized by secrets that you're keeping?
I know what you're keeping
I know what you're keeping
Got a secret
Can you keep it?
Swear this one you'll save
Better lock it in your pocket
Taking this one to the grave
If I show you then I know you won't tell what I said

I like every other Pierces song I have heard here on RP, though so I guess it evens out.
I really like this. It just rubs me the right way. In some ways, it reminds me of old Legendary Pink Dots. Not really sure how, but it does.
you know just because something is different doesn't make it art. there are times when something is different and it sux. this is an example of that. and i am not so sure this song is so different.

"What about the ones that post an unpleasant comment each time we're on RP?"
"I suppose they think if they whine enough they'll get their way. Mama says we shouldn't say 'wankers,' but...."
LoL I take it all back...so long as they come for a visit...and forget to bring any clothes.
Torture.
Whew! I made it through this song without jumping out of my chair and throwing myself out a plate glass window!
Nigel: "This one goes to eleven."
rockstarbro: "This one goes to minus one."

Oscar, a few minutes ago it had a rating of 5. Keep voting 1 ! Pull this sucker down into the grave where it belongs!
HAhahah you all should go back to your FM radio stations!
no wonder "Diablo Rojo" has a rating of 8 and a different cool song like this one has a 4 ...
Hilarious!
Please keep putting songs like this for the ones that look for something different, that is Radio Paradise mission!

don't keep that a secret, tell everyone!
I wonder if I can hack at the pull-down box and create a 0 rating? It depends on how the PHP is coded -- whether it compares the pull-down strings and supplies its own number, or whether they got lazy and parse the number out of the pull-down box.
Either way, for this song, there needs to be something worse than Sucko-Barfo. How about "0 - Remove From Playlist Or Die" ?
It was interesting the first time, but y'know, she doesn't actually *say* that she murdered her friend, so I'm mean, c'mon, what's the point of the song? KILL HER, SHE SHARED YOUR SECRET ALREADY WHICH SHE PROMISED ON HER LIFE TO KEEP. Don't sing a song about it, just do it.
mwa ha ha ha ha!!!!!!

What's up with that little conversation in the middle of the song? I kinda liked this song at first. That was the turning point. Now, at the end, I feel like I'm on a carousel spinning so fast I'm gonna puke. 7->3
My first "1" rating.

This wore out its welcome. It was fun the first time, now it is so obnoxious it is a muter.
What a bizarre song.

At best.
Phoooey!
This is fantastic, welcome to RAdio paradise!
I thought for a moment this was by Sarah Slean, as the main voice really sounds like her, but her song writing is a little more mature IMO. RP - you should look into Sarah Slean... some great stuff from Canada!!
And yet another 5-rated song makes it to the daily playlist.
This song sounds like it was ripped off from the opening music to the "Nancy Drew Mystery Hour". If I were a 12 year old girl I might like this song. Fortunately, I am a 50 year old man who likes Radiohead; please do not play this anymore.

I like the sound but are these girls actually responsible for any of it? I mean are they writing the material or mixing or playing any instruments or are they just pawn stars of the pop industry? Anyone?
This song was written by Catherine Pierce.
I quite like this song actually. It reminds me of The Smiths in that if you just listen to the music is seems like it should be a happy song but when you actually pay attention to the words they're talking about killing someone who can't keep a secret.
it was almost working for me for a minute, but I agree with Marley--it's way too repetitive. Can't they think of more than one line?
kindermanltd wrote:

Wikipedia (the complete musical authority of course), lists them both as performing:
Lead vocals, backing vocals, harmony vocals, guitars, whistling
Certainly harmony vocals and whistling are vitally important and distinctive.
I enjoyed it. Reminds me of A Midnight Choir.
I don't like this one much. The chorus is kinda neat I guess....but not enough to support the rest.
A song stops me in my tracks at work for one of two reasons: it's really great or it's really bad. I think this falls in the latter category. The first listening was ok, repeated listenings have NOT helped the song grow on me.
3 on a good day
Yikes.... let's take this one off the regular playlist.
Slightly annoying delivery, but I love the dark lyrics. Hmm, split the difference.. given 5.
...quirky macabre fun...

I kind of liked it; it might not stand repeated listening though.
..And I've got a statement...This is terrible!
It is no secret this is bad!
thought: do some people like this song because the Pierces are pretty?
I'ma gonna puke at the end of this dark horse carousel ride
I have heard this enough times now. Please drop it.
this is the first time i've heard of them, and i'm digging it. hopefully we'll hear the other song off this album sometime soon.
Logging off now. Might check in later
This is gawd aweful. Come on, how did this make the cut.

Is just singing not good enough? Maybe they're not doing that, either.
I can't take this song!

SPOT ON!
Somehow the fractured grammar and misspellings in the mailing list messages from The Pierces disappear into the giddy excitement of their latest adventure. One has to cut them a little slack. After all, the poor things were home-schooled in Alabama, were ballerinas in Pittsburgh before moving to New York City, and have to go through life looking like this:
Ok for the Moulin Rouge back in the day but I don't know about now.....a little too french for me

I see what they're trying to do with this, but it's not working for me. It's too much...too long and too repetitive. It kinda grates on my nerves for some reason...
cool!

If RP was pushing that kind of act on us, I'd think RP would lose a lot of support. Anyway, I read the bio about these ladies. I'm pretty sure they are not of that mold.
Wendy?
Yes Lisa.
Is the water warm enough?
Yes Lisa.
Shall we begin?
Yes Lisa.
"Two can keep a secret if one of them is dead."
This is actually an old mob saying, often used by the Hell's Angels and other crime gangs.
Very clever of the girls to use it in a song, especially one as deceptively sweet as 'Secret.'
How about some Jill Tracy for true darkness?
"Two can keep a secret if one of them's dead" ...sounds like a Poor Richard or Twain quote.
Started out 5 1
I love and appreciate RP.
However, I think this song blows and that is no secret.

Deliciously creepy. Let that be a lesson to you all to keep your traps shut if someone tells you a secret!
if edward gorey were a girl and could sing...
Just...ewww.
Good tune. Reminds me of Kate Bush's "Army Dreamer."
I like it .....
Takes me back to "Btvs", my favorite TV series of all times. Very "black comedy" song!

The Pierces parody celebrity culture in their song, "Boring," from this album.
They sound like Poe to me, but without her grittiness and punch.
Mmmmm, they're hot!!!!
This song makes me feel like I ate something funny. Kinda like a sugar headache.

"Uh-huh"
Except Leader of the Pack sounds like a real conversation. Here the phone dialog feels contrived and ruined the song.
okay this is weird... sometimes weird is good sometimes it is just weird.
This is some freaked up shiznit. But I kindof like it, for Halloween.

Rewound for a second listen (like it even more now) and it reminded me a bit of the song Coin-Operated Boy by the The Dresden Dolls.
What can I say... I'm a fool for anyhing waltzy. :-)
I like it... except for the Britney-ish dialogue thing which definitely takes a couple of points off.
