Save up all the days, a routine malaise
Just like yesterday I told you I would stay
Would you always? Maybe sometimes?
Make it easy? Take your time
Think of all the ways, momentary phase
Just like yesterday I told you I would stay
Every time you try quarter half a mile
Just like yesterday I told you I would stay
Would you always? Maybe sometimes?
Make it easy? Take your time
Would you always? Maybe sometimes?
Make it easy? Take your time
Always... Sometimes... Easy... Time...

Where did this song go?
So Beach Boys.

i'm betting on a cleaning product

It was on an episode of How I Met Your Mother early last month, if that counts for anything.

maybe I just like harmony, but this song is very entertaining to me. . .like a happy jingle. I predice it'll be used in a commercial, if it hasn't been already.

surprised it's not being used in a commercial yet. uh-oh, uh-oh, uh-oh

Wimpy Bear would be apt.

Groove free.
Well I like this song for one, and the video complements it's slowness nicely.
I think they stole most of this structure from an RJD2 track, or is it the other way around?

The Chiffons did, in Sweet Talking Guy
The piano line for the verse is three chords put together, at its most basic. In the extraordinarily long history of piano, or the incredibly densely populated modern music scene, could anyone expect that no one would've thought to play three chords at a staccato before? THe keyboardist does vary it, as well, by adding syncopated notes a couple octaves lower.

Sounds like 10cc.

Good call - Ben Folds is the closest kinship here (people tend to call out 'Beach Boys' as soon as there's 4-part harmony and a falsetto top part...)
Hmm. I don't think Ben Folds grew up in a vacuum.

Has anyone heard their newest one featuring Michael MacDonald?
Surprisingly, it isn't bad.
KCRW has been playing the snot out of it.
I just hope it isn't the downfall of this group.

Yikes. I see wat you me. I love these guys. They were awesome when they played here and I still think that this album is brilliant and I thought this piano piece—now clearly this remix—was great. It is okay by me. They were incredibly talented and creative so they get lots of degrees of freedom from me
Where have I heard that hook before?
Ah, yes:

Started out good enough, but then it just got slow and... whiny? I dunno. Didn't love it. Didn't hate it.

Interesting but kind of annoying (perhaps its that **complicated piano riff** in the background . . .)

I wonder where he stole it from?
According to whosampled, he sampled Maybe Tomorrow by Grant Green, I'm listening to it now - and if they sampled that, they did some interesting things with the sample to create Still D.R.E.
But really, this piano line has been used before and will be used again in one form or another - I didn't mean to imply Grizzly Bear stole it from Dr Dre, but I just can't listen to the intro to this song without expecting Snoop Dogg & Dr Dre to start rapping.

Nothing special, IMO. Not sure what all the fuss is about.

I like it, but expected it to be a new Ben Folds number until I checked. Very catchy tune.

Daniel Rossen is also in Department of Eagles. Both projects are top notch
quite likeable
Kind of has an "Animal Collective" sound

In the current issue of Newsweek, Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails) talks about how "excellent" Grizzly Bear is and says "it's interesting to see there's room for that in what's considered hip these days." https://www.newsweek.com/id/202584

A friend of mine gave me a CD today, and he included this song on it. I hadn't ever noticed it here on RP before, but having heard it earlier today, it was immediately recognizable.

This one, I don't get it.
Kick ass song. Beach Boys meets Elbow indeed.
Solid 8!

It's about time! I checked last week and was shocked to find that there were no Grizzly Bear songs on RP. So happy to see that they've made their way on to the playlist. I just saw them at a sold out show at the Granada in Dallas last night. Besides the excruciating heat, the show was awesome! These guys are super talented and I can't wait to see them grow in popularity. I'm wearing my Grizzly Bear t-shirt right now in support. :)
Edit: Be sure to check out the video for this song on You Tube. I like it.

Bought this last week. Excellent CD!
Wow, not only does this bear have claws, it also has sharp teeth. The Beach Boys meet Elbow.
This sounds like a weird cross between Peter, Bjorn and John, and Royksopp.
Yay! Very cool stuff!
This was introduced to me on xpn as the album of the week back in May. Great album!
Grizzly Bear on RP...YESSS!
