As a former elementary teacher, I have to say that the sample of kids cheering periodically in this song was the BEST sound one could ever hear in a primary-grade classroom!

I know Thom York took Radiohead off at a tangent after OK Computer, but depending on your mood, they can still arouse feelings deep in your musical soul that so many bands simply cannot do. The later stuff reminds me of Talk Talk. Can't tell you why exactly, just does. I guess they both pushed the boundaries a bit, and that's never a bad thing.

Haters will hate, but its the ratings that (mostly) dictate the tunes played here by Bill. Apart from a few notable exceptions, songs that have a low rating are usually culled from playlists.
But how marvellous that this challenging and excellent piece is played here. Hurrah!

OUCH! It hurts to rip off my earphones that fast! PSD is just too slow sometimes.
Canned Heat without the groove- really awful music
But mostly, really, what makes this SUCK is Yorke's so-called voice. 
Had an amazing experience with this in Amsterdam last week. 2 drummers and at least 15,000 bouncing, stomping steps!

Now I remember why this album was free and I still haven't listened to it in ages. Must we have the ping pong table back in the recording studio. I know other people liked it on OK computer but really? Somewhere buried under a mountain of crap I kind of suspect there may be a half way decent song but I can't drown out the rest of the annoying noise to hear it.

Zeppelin may be amazing. Zeppelin may have been around first. But Radiohead to some - including myself - are absolutely brilliant. This track is no exception.

It was Lindsey Buckingham's idea for Fleetwood Mac to perform his song Tusk with the USC Marching Band, way back in 1979. . .
After checking the marching band version, I have to say I think that it's much more impressive/moving than this studio version, though I do like both.

That's interesting; I don't think I've ever seen or heard any musician or band compared to Paul Auster. Not that your comparison is inaccurate — he's just kind of a unexpected person to bring up. I've barely heard any mention of Mr. Auster since the early 1990's.

Hahaha, I checked...and YES, it was the USC Marching Band! Wow, I have to agree, I like this version better than the recorded, electronic version. Of course I love marching bands.

I think I like the Grammy live version better than the CD. Not too bad either way. Nice pairing with Elvis Costello Bill ;-)

I'll bet that first "1" rating was from someone's hatred of the band vs the merits of digesting the song on it's own.

I was just thinking about the same thing. Another possibility is he heard it multiple times before it came on here and had already developed a well considered opinion.
