I think my grandma has a piece of land
I'm supposed to take it when she's dead
My aunt Diane has a lifetime right
I'll have to tell her if she's still alive
She's probably dead but dead in a secret place
From drugs, dirty murder, or some such thing
Under a bridge, in a trailer, or in the woods
I've got to leave, yeah, I think I should
I better run
I better run
I think my father built an awful flame
He burned his eyes, his mouth, it burned his brain
Now he writes songs about his made-up life
At least I think so, if he's still alive
He's probably dead but dead in a secret place
From drugs, dirty murder, or some such thing
Under a bridge, in a trailer, or in the woods
I've got to leave, yeah, I think I should
I better run x10

Possibly, but is that a bad thing? Although I thought "Cities in Dust" was amazing back in the day, I'm not sure it's aged as well as some other music from the era. I think this song stands well on it's own (definitely the song topic is different), but even if it is derivative, at the very least it's a nice update.

By "this virrus" are you referring to the song? I wish there were a vaccine, but I'm afraid that's way down the list of priorities for the Federal Government.
Let's give a hand to all the effort throughout the world involved in finding a vaccine for this virus.

That "whoa oah" chorus sinks this song. What an auditory PITA.
This may mark me as a sick person, but I like poppy/pretty tunes with bleak lyrics. Think "Star Witness" by Neko Case.
Daddy issues, the song.
Play Siouxie!
I'm actually surprised that Siouxsie & The Banshees don't go after The Rosebuds. I mean this is a good song - but really?!

This song always makes me smile when I hear that toy piano two-note solo.

Boring whoahs.

Wow that is repetitive.
Sounds a bit like 2:54

What kind of piano is that? Fisher Price?

I don't know that song specifically, but I was definitely thinking Siouxsie and the Banshees, with vocals about an octave lower than Siouxsie Sioux.
Yeah a little Siouxie ripoff on the backup vocals there.

Definitely a child's toy piano, but not the first time it's been done.
I can think of another instance, in the fabulous 70s pop tune Magnet And Steel by Walter Egan, and there might be others.

Very good album!
Another wohowoh song. Might as well sing lalala. Boring.
Kind of just-awaken Al Corley feeling
So many other good Rosebud songs! Why this lame one?!
BORED NOW!
Make it go away please...

Kelly Crisp lived in my 'hood in Raleigh - they've been a great not-so-secret secret around here for a long time. Good tune and a nice fit into the RP format. Thanks for playing so many great local and regional artists Bill!

Cool tune, haven't heard it in a while. There seem to be a lot of good bands based in North Carolina these days.

Not crazy about the lyrics, but the bass riff is cool.

Nice. I'll start out with a 7 and go from there. A catchy pop tune.
Apparently Radio Paradise has discovered the Rosebuds. Such a great band!

It is reminiscent during the "whoa" parts, but the rest of the song is very different: different chords, different melody. Everyone hears different things though. Still, Siouxsee was very inspirational to many later artists.
Anyone else hear Cities In Dust / Siouxsie And The Banshees?

''Rosebud'' was what William Randolph Hearst termed the umentionable part of his mistress's anatomy between her thighs.
The film Citizen Kane changed it to the name of a kid's snow sled. Go figure. At least both slip and slide.

"Rosebud, Rosebud..." (gasp) (death rattle)
I'm picking up a little "Love is the Drug" in this one. Intriguing; a 6 for now, reserving the right to increase that if it grows on me.
Whaaahhuuu, Whaaahhuuu, someone missed the class on how to end a song ooooooohhhoooooo...
Some kind of 80s blend!
Whaaahhuuu indeed.
