Asked a girl what she wanted to be
She said, Baby, can't you see?
I wanna be famous, a star of the screen
But you can do something in between
Baby, you can drive my car
Yes, I'm gonna be a star
Baby, you can drive my car
And maybe I'll love you
I told that girl that my prospects were good
And she said, Baby, it's understood
Working for peanuts is all very fine
But I can show you a better time
Baby, you can drive my car
Yes, I'm gonna be a star
Baby, you can drive my car
And maybe I'll love you
Beep beep mm beep beep, yeah
Baby, you can drive my car
Yes, I'm gonna be a star
Baby, you can drive my car
And maybe I'll love you
I told that girl I could start right away
When she said, Listen, baby, I got something to say
I got no car and it's breaking my heart
But I've found a driver and that's a start
Baby, you can drive my car
Yes, I'm gonna be a star
Baby, you can drive my car
And maybe I'll love you
Beep-beep mm beep-beep, yeah
Beep-beep mm beep-beep, yeah

What a terrible band name.....not a bad group though!!!!
Is there a negative rating for this tripe?

"Driver´s seat" directly after "Drive my car". I have to correct my rating for the Beatles-song downwards.
This certainly got my attention as a young lad! That fluid, nimble bass, the jazzy, layered harmonies, cool keyboards and catchy guitar!
For some reason this is one of my Beatels top 10, I still don't know why ... maybe that is the reason!
Too bad this song's only 49 seconds long :^ (

Is that a euphemism?

Love the sentiment - and BTW this trancends ANYTHING (well.....almost) in the last 40 years
My mom was wonderful. She LOVED The Beatles. I'm her last child and she turned 34 that Summer. I was a 3 yr. old turning 4 and I remember singing "beep beep, m, beep beep, yah" with her. Actually, I remember my love of The Beatles came from that Summer. No one else in the family was listening...Just me and my mom...Thanks Bill

Your story has become tiresome.
Everybody in my mushrooming multitude of churches be dancing buck ass naked all across the holy moly world like bowlegged gypsy muleskinners and B.F. Skinner... we love this splendiferous song... love this marvelous album... love sex, drugs, and rock 'n roll...

McArtney really could run a nice bass line, couldn't he.

I'd have this playing on the car stereo and a friend of my son's would always sing
"beep-beep-beep, beep-beep-beep, yeah!"
oblivious to the violation of rhythm. He never could get it right, but he enjoyed it.
More cowbell, Richard.

If there would be a need to explain the word 'GODLIKE'....here is it.
Yay! I've been thinking about the Beatles all morning!
beep beep, beep beep YEAH!!! ">
Had this one on reel to reel tape, bought in store,my very first STEREO experience!
This is a great tune that serves as a hell of a kick-off for the 'Rubber Soul' album.
baby i love you
nice_ transition from Chuck Berry (Nadine)
this song's a 10 from me
ed:(and then on to War-Low Rider--sweet set!!!)
Gave the song a 8, but this set?:
Beatles - Drive My Car
Chuck Berry - Nadine
A Band of Bees - A Minha Menina
A 10/10
Great mix from Chuck Berry into The Beatles.
As "Nadine" finished...I thought...it'll be a Beatles song next.
Quality.

no, really, I'm just curious, when people say that they are sick of something on RP, what is it they WANT to listen to? (and don't say "Choctaw Bingo" or I'll have to take you behind your trailer and beat you with a switch!)
I thought that we were all here for the diversity of the music?
More Choctaw Bingo!!!

Beatles - Drive My Car
Fred Eaglesmith - 105
Stan Ridgway - Drive, She Said
A 3-way "Car talk" melody? Fun!

I think Rubber Soul shows exactly how not to be a cookie-cutter band. Unfortunately, few bands nowadays break the mold.
Gotta love it - it's got a cowbell!
