I was driftin'
Cryin'
I was looking for another
And I was slippin' under
I pulled the devil down with me
One way or another
I'm out of my mind
Think you can wait
I'm way off the line
Think you can wait
We've been running a sleepless run
Been away from the baby way too long
We've been holding a good night gun
We've been losing our exits one by one
I'm out of my mind
Think you can wait
I'm way off the line
Think you can wait..It out
All I have is loss
Think you can wait..It out
All I have is loss
Think you can wait
What I'm thinking is simple
I'll sell apples and ice water at the temple
And I won't make trouble
I'll pull the devil down with me one way or another
We've been running a sleepless run
Been away from the baby way too long
We've been holding a good night gun
We've been losing our exits one by one
I'll try
I'll try
But I couldn't be better
All I have is loss
I'll try
But I couldn't be better
All I have is loss
I'll try
But I couldn't be better
All I have is loss
Cryin'
I was looking for another
And I was slippin' under

They're so wildly different in concert! Love listening to them either way.
The National in concert last Saturday night (with Fleet Foxes) was awesome.

I remember when I saw the movie Win, Win, I heard this song at the end and thought: I know there guys. Nice song.

is that the Barenaked Ladies doing backup vocals?
This reminds me of the Tindersticks which we never hear on RP. Come on Bill, let's hear some Tindersticks!
Every song by them sounds the same. Borrrrrrrinnnnng.
The most extraordinary thing - a song by The National that I didn't have to PSD. Next thing you know, it will be something by Pixies

Hang in there, not much to go until the fog lifts a bit more. Thank you to all Victorians, and thanks to you. From Sydney.
It's the 13th of April 2020. Recorded for when I look back at my comment, 7 years on.
It's not that I just love this group, crystallized at their outdoor concert here in Melbourne a few years ago.
It IS that RP is sustaining me through a troubled time globally - and internally, battling with Devils of Depression dancing on their open stage of isolation.
And most lyrics of the songs I'm hearing here seem to resonate with a booming bounce in my soul.
Like this one.
Damn, I love this station.

Always good to hear The National on here.

This almost had a definable melody.
Words fail to express how bad I think this band is.
Lame music, Lame songwriting

Fabulous segue from Pink Floyd's Grantchester Meadows! Thanks!
I like the National. But someone please get this guy and band out of this song's funeral procession! It's a downer.
These guys just seem to hit the right notes sometimes - a fantastic song, and after a tough day at home the last hour or so of RP has so helped sooth me - thank you guys yet again !
I can see it working within a movie but wow I need something a little more zippy than this right now.
Pretty nice!
Didn't these guys just open up for Obama in Iowa 2 weeks ago?
Nice segue from Pink Floyd's Grantchester Meadows. Well done Bill. This song reminds me of the group Other Lives.
I remember hearing this song at the end of the movie Win Win and thinking to myself, hey I know this group.
Nice song. Hope its on their next CD.
