Mean on, let it
When our lips come together
I come over
Wake up notices you made it
Beauty, baby
When our lips come together
I get older
One more time
And this is what you wanted to know
You are mine, hope
One more time
And this is what you wanted to know
You are mine, hope
Got yourself in the β¦ constant, content
You are over my shoulder
Distant, past
When our lips come together
I come over
As we're coming our present
I get, older
One more time
And this is what you wanted to know
You are mine, hope
One more time
And this is what you wanted to know
You are mine, hope.
Sounds like Jon Anderson singing for Alan Parsons.
Definitely has a Parsons Project vibe.
sounded like YES there for a moment. I like π
Hearing a bit of Tangerine Dream - the Train Song from Risky Business

j/k
same as his other crap
This was available by free download originally from AdultSwim, looks to be available elsewhere now (beware from where you try to get it). It is apparently not a part of Wye Oak's own catalog.
It's my favorite song of theirs, and apparently doesn't fit most of their works' genre from what I read once.
Ends a little odd, but if I just skip fwd at the odd spot, it is all-good!
You can get it for only a dollar from their Bandcamp page.
Just really feeling this today for some reason.
What?!?!?
I once sat through 2 hours of gamelan, hated the first hour, loved the second. Perhaps my brain had been retrained.
I had the exact same experience at a Hawkwind concert !
oops, forgot to say I love it!

Nah. You're confusing him with his brother Third.

The vibraphone loops remind me of Terry Riley compositions from the 1970's.
Yes, it is reminiscent of that sound. It's a loop of marimba, not xylophone or vibraphone, and it's apparently meant to emulate the 'minimalist' works by Riley and Reich - they're not trying to fool anyone. It was composed as a one-off single for an Adult Swim series, and is quite different from their other work.
i could do without it

Brutal
?!?!?! Civilian borders on brilliant, this borders on horrible (throwaway schlock, at the least).
My humble opinion....
I like.
Actually, white oaks, which is what I believe the Wye Oak was, grow in every state in the eastern half of the United States - as far north as Minnesota and Maine.
Thanks for that, I was wondering what it meant.
My thoughts exactly. And that's a good thing.
Mixed with some Buckingham vocals
I have Fripp & Brufford & Levin in my mind right now.

The Wye Oak was the honorary state tree of Maryland, and the largest white oak tree in the United States. Located in the town of Wye Mills, Talbot County, Maryland, the Wye Oak was believed to be over 460 years old at the time of its destruction during a severe thunderstorm on June 6, 2002, and measured 31 feet 10 inches (970 cm) in circumference of the trunk at breast height, 96 feet (29 m) high, with a crown spread of 119 feet (36 m). It is believed that the acorn that became the oak germinated around the year 1540.
In 1939, the Maryland General Assembly purchased the tree and almost 30 acres (12 ha) surrounding it and established Wye Oak State Park.Yeah, very good. The intro made me think this was Billy Idol's "Flesh for Fantasy."
I've been waterboarded. This is nothing like it!!!

"Pragmatic" is probably a better word than "simple" in that instance.
I'm plumping for a big fat 8
Yeah I'm leaning that way too, but I'm still not quite sold. Perhaps next listen.
It was a great show!

That's IT!!! Thank you. Couldn't put my finger on it.

First time through I heard Chrissie, this time I get Cocteau Twins. Which really just means I am hearing some good new ( to me) stuff

My first thought about the guitar-intro was definitely "Alan Parsons' Project".
I used to be a fan of APP, but it smells a bit cheesy nowadays.
This one is quite OK, but it ends up a bit flat. It could do with a bit more "Bang".
Thanks, pal! I did check them out and love their stuff.
Yes cool track and now I wonder why I have not heard Cocteau Twins yet on RP. It can only be that not enough gets played.
well Chrissie for sure

Hmm, I was thinking that was a man, but you could be right. Interesting sound.
Different, quirky, cool.
Ta v. much for the intro.

I do.. Later 80s Yes.. I like it !
cool trance music... dig it...
interesting— the band's name Wye Oak refers to the former state tree of Maryland...
LOVE it, thanks!

Just what I was about to say.
