If it is true, if you have come to the rescue
Why do the bells sound of danger?
Words of peace, they fall from you freely
Awful free for a stranger
Setting sun, you know you ought to run
There's a wolf here among the sheep
But marching along to the spirit catcher's song
You remain in a dreamless sleep
Desperate eyes
Let the counterfeit suffice
Hoping high
They will be kind to you
Fog and fears and a mouth full of hot tears
Can drown that voice sent to guide you
And wicked tongues with their hooks
And their ice blood
Can wake the demons inside you
Doubt will creep through the windows as you sleep
Setting in like a cold cold front
Your hands go numb and your stomach doubles up
And you think, was I happy once?
Desperate minds
Hold the counterfeit so tight
Hoping high
They will be kind
Hoping high
They will be kind
Hoping high
He will be kind
To you
Run run run run
Run run run run
Why do the bells sound of danger?
Words of peace, they fall from you freely
Awful free for a stranger
Setting sun, you know you ought to run
There's a wolf here among the sheep
But marching along to the spirit catcher's song
You remain in a dreamless sleep

And you think, was I happy once?
Desperate minds

Hoping high
They will be kind
Hoping high

To you
Run run run run
Run run run run

She is the actress in the Harry Potter series "fantastic beasts and where to find them". I didn't know she sang but she does have a nice voice.

Great band name, describes our country at the moment, but it will pass....
Even better song name.

This is a Hudson's Bay Company blanket, which have been around for 300 years in Canada. Every Canadian knows these blankets at a glance.

Sounds like Sarah Slean more than Fiona Apple. Definitely not Lana del Ray. Either way...not bad.

I hear the Sarah Slean in there. No complaints though - I was unfamiliar with Alison, but this is a great song. I like it.

Tip from the UK: "I like your trousers" instead of "Nice arse." :)

Interestingly, A Fine Frenzy is not the name of the band. It's the name of the singer.

Maybe there's an animal adaptation of "Showgirls"...
My parents lived in a former-farm-turned-rural-development. There were a few belted Guernsey cattle for show...and then someone decided to bring in a herd of Tennessee fainting goats. Yes, if this breed of goat gets stressed too much it will drop to the ground like it's been shot. People came from all 'round to see and try that trick for themselves. Eventually, the farmer/developer had to hide the goats because they were so stressed out. Maybe he should have charged admission...

Saw a livestock trailer on the interstate with a sticker on it that said "Caution! Showgoats." Made me nervous. I have no idea what they are capable of.
I hear the goat thing in the vocals, but in a good way. :-)

Don't think I'd describe it as depressing, without passion or ugly... Not sure what your cup of tea is, but I like passionate redheads, so get over it and find a new song to complain about.

Clearly inspired by Fiona Apple as well. Not that I'm complaining.

Good song from a very good album, which I bought after hearing the opener "Pinesong" on RP. I like the many moods the album touches on from melancholia to optimism, without sounding too bi-polar.

I liked it.
Like the song title. It reminds me of a wise saying from a co-worker: "If you don't want anyone to p!ss on your parade, don't give away the parade route."
Lana del Rey? I'm hearing Shirley Bassey coming in loud and clear. She definitely doesn't do blankets.

I know. Radio Paradise is about music. This is not a hair salon! And to the guy saying he preferred her red and not blonde... Really, It's not like you had a chance either way. She's almost certainly not interested in you, and we're not interested in your preferences. Creepy really. ;-)
I think I like this better than the stuff from her first album, which I initially liked and then got bored with. Sometimes it takes a while for artists to find their mojo. Not everybody hits it out of the park on the first or second album.

I think she's starting to sound like Amanda Jensen, at least in a few parts of this song.
Not impressive to me. Seems formulaic.

Her voice is changing as she gets older. Not sure it's a good thing.

I went to see Johnette Napolitano (Concrete Blonde fame) at the Pageant here in Saint Louis and she started of her set with, "So this is Saint Louis!? ... Sorry." Kinda took the whole experience down a few notches just for the comment, for me.
Rumor has it that she once played Red Rocks in Colorado, and when asked what she thought of the State, her reply was something like "I can't wait to get out of here". Hopefully that was not a comment on Colorado. Not endearing.

Bill (or Rebecca), you seem to be willing to give AFF more slack than I. Yes, she's lovely and a fine singer (Frenzious, even), but I find her songs catchy at first, then tedious at long last.
Edit: When did she go from red to blonde?

Aha! Loads of options with the basic iconic design.
