That morning sky gave me a look
So i left while you were sleeping
thats all it took
and i chalked a line south down the coast
going where my thirst was open
for the things that i dont know
going where i wasnt paying
for the hurt that i owe
one half moon sleeping by the creeks
and a woman put me under
her barn roof for a week
i knew her voice before she spake
i saw a grave dug by a preacher
just to see what it would make
so hold high have faith your reasons
(or youll never get on)
dont you forget you come from nothing
(or youll never get on)
that wind is calling my name
i wont wait or ill never get on
its not hard to live like a ghost
i just haunt all that ive wanted
and leave what i dont
i dreamt a trail up to the sky
and my brothers built propellers
just to see how far theyd fly
so hold high have faith your reasons
(or youll never get on)
your flashing sparrows chasing with them
dont you forget you come from nothing
(or youll never get on)
that wind is calling my name

This morning, the Main Mix is absolutely fabulous. Thank you!

Seems lightweight at first but turns out to be finely balanced. They create a good mood here.
I'm going 7 perhaps 8.
What is it with Portland bands and artists? I really love them all...
spake?
Blind Pilot is one of those bands that is just solid all around, every song a little gem, and yet fly under most people's radar. Thanks for playing this, RP!
I stop and enjoy this every time it pops up on the playlist. Wonderful.
7 -> 8
starting at 7 - I like this
*chorus*
"When the wheels come down..."
Harmonies are wonderful.
Anyone hear Brandon Flowers in this voice? In the phrasing and inflection.

No, I have not.
Have you noticed that most of the recent new songs at RP are these new pop-rock songs and all have the same mix and master? Everything sounds so perfect and balanced that makes the listening flat and boring.
No, I have not.
Saw them a couple of weeks ago with Gregory Alan Isakov. A great show!
Oh, wow, this is quite nice.
Thanks for another fine introduction, Bill

"Before she spake"? Seriously, your that hard up to rhyme?
Perhaps it was actually creative?
spake
verb Archaic.
a simple past tense of speak.

I really like this song and this album, in spite of the slick poppiness of it, and even spite of the fact that BP brings back memories of the Partridge Family. I just can't help it. It's good pop.
yeah... no.

I wouldn't agree that all recent songs are as you describe, but I totally agree with your comments as far as this one is concerned. This is definitely too far towards mainstream lightweight pop for me.

It makes me happy.
I hear this and I think is this a clone of:
1) Vampire weekend
2) Arctic Monkeys
I have heard of others that sound almost indistnct.

Guilt by association, I see.
They supported The Decemberists' last UK tour and played a good set. Their previous album is perhaps stronger but I'm very glad to have discovered them and to hear RP playing them.

Lalala. I am drifting. From the corner bar.

Just feel the force Yuel..
Being from Portland, OR it's nice to hear some bands from here getting recognition. However, why do most bands from Portland have to sound all the same?? There is no originality to any of it. Let's all hop on the bandwagon and make the same music while it's hot.

Surely, that depends on where you are going and how you are travelling?
