I think I'm going back to California
Summer distant and it's all far way
It's all far
It's all far
Far away

I think I'll drift across the ocean now
Clouds looks so clear in your eyes
Let me bring you on my
Let me bring you on my friend

I think I'll fly across the ocean
I can watch the sky turning grey
I think I'm going back
I think I'll go back

I think I hear the whisper of old best friend
I think I hear the bells ringing in the square
California
California

I live southern Oregon. We welcome all of our California brothers and sisters to our beautiful state. We have but one simple request. That you leave your 49er pipe dreams at the border. You live in the great pacific northwest now. Our home team is the one and only Seahawks. Just sayin.'

Thank you for the welcome!  In my college years, early 90's, I did a road trip to Ashland with friends and we were shocked driving down main street and getting flipped off repeatedly.  We finally realized it was our California license plates
Brilliant!

Everybody in my alien space craft loves this song, about a state whose name has no known origin—  a state that invents itself...  we be dancing buck naked and cross-eyed like Willy Shakes...
I am pretty happy with almost anything I hear on RP, but not this tedious song, and definitely not this often. In fact I wrote something relatively scathing about this band just last week. A mediocre good morning, now here' s your breakfast sleeping pill.
I do approve of the album cover, though.
On one hand, I appreciate the voice. On the other hand it is a definite vibe, but often one of alienation, or disregard, which I don't much like to have done to me by my music. On the third hand there is the contest between who puts me to sleep first, mazzy star or cowboy junkies.

Perhaps, but this band's sound is seldom about loud or flamboyant guitar.
After Californication, can Hotel California Dreaming be far behind?

Seems like an easily researchable fact that someone with a little time and gumption could figure out. unfortunately I have plenty of the former, but none of the latter.

I humbly disagree. To me, it seems the acoustic guitar is structured to accentuate the vocals.

You can have your hearing tested at a number of specialists.

If this is on I don't need 'em tested, I need 'em plugged!

For sure a hard 8. Never tire of her.
She has a dreamy voice..reminds me of Eva Dahlgren from back in the 80s - She could sing in a soft whisper so beautifully in Swedish.
Recently picked up the disc and listened straight through.  It's excellent!  Highly recommend to all MS lovers, or otherwise.  The audio quality is also exceptional for you audiophiles out there.
excellent
sooo good for the soul
The guitar at the beginning kinda reminded me of a Led Zeppelin song.
Always languishing Mazzy

Wow, new Mazzy -- awesome!  I must say, at first listen, this seems to appeal very highly.  Of course, I'm quite happy to hear it here, first!

The Walrus is the Egg Man...and he's makin' Kevin Bacon.

Sorry guys, Page already did the riff.  Too similar.  KThx.

The more I listen to this, I'm wondering if that's the point?  Maybe not.  Who knows.  It's too late on Friday for me to still be in the office.

Glad to hear some new Mazzy Star--thanks, RP!

I like, but am getting antsy during this because RP played a sleepyweepy Radiohead song before this. Navel-gazing tolerance running low.

I listen to this song around once a week (if not more), and certainly it is not one of the best RPs selections!

It's getting more play presently because it's from a new album.  You'll live.

Once or twice A WEEK?  Boy, what an intrusion!

Imagine listening to OTA radio - at least you have all those commercials distracting you from the fact that you hear the same 100 songs every day.
I listen to this song around once a week (if not more), and certainly it is not one of the best RPs selections!

I'd given up on them ever doing another album.  Wow -- best thing to happen to me this week.  Such a sweet sound.  Instant 8!

Beautiful voice, Hope, but where would you be without reverb?
