Simple melody but effective! It feels the spot! I like!
Such an incredible song.   All of the beauty of mankind in about 5 minutes.

this really is top shit may I just say - I commend to the house
only found Tycho through RP (along with so much). This track is my alarm tone for when I need it in the morning - so gives me a jolt when it comes on during the day!

Started at a 4, grew to a 6, and before it was done playing I'm rating an 8.
Most likely thanks to my pretty neat, and load, stereo system in my truck.
Edit: hearing on headphones a 2nd time, going back to a 7, still quite likable, and as is often the case, all thanks to RP.

I hit it to 8. This is my kind of music, and I too look up much music thanks to RP. Moby is but one of few artists that I've com to love thanks to RP.

Tycho would have been nothing without Kepler.

I guess maybe one could retort that Kepler would have been nothing without Tycho.
This reminds me a bit of Dif Juz - a British studio band from the 80's that unfortunately only made a few albums.

Interesting comments lizardking.

I am not fond of listening to techno-ambient music in an automobile.  I find I miss too much.  But I will put it on on a long road trip after several hours of actively listening to other kinds of music.

And FWIW:  6 => 7

I'm the opposite, at least with regards to listening to techno-ambient music, or electronica, basically if it's beat heavy I like the sub response in my truck and the powered high-end notes come out pretty clean, surprisingly.  Plus, at only 1/2 volume on my deck, I can pretty much NOT hear road noise even with windows down.

Classical on the other-hand, that's where I like hearing it w/ phones or at home with my Polk tower speakers.

Yes, I remember that show; this is reminiscent now that you brought it up.  The host's name was Jack Horkheimer; I remember by the 1990s he took to wearing a silver "Members Only" style jacket.

Sadly he passed away, I remember him as well and that little PBS segment.

I've always heard Ty-ko. Of course, the way I pronounce my first name might affect that.

Been hearing this album on SOMA FM's Groove Salad and like it quite a lot.

Good to hear it here.  This falls somewhere between the ethereal journeys of Lanterna and the accessibility of Explosions In The Sky to me.

Yes.  Not quite the same but if BoC appeals, so should this.

Beautiful relaxing song, glad to hear it on RP
Reminds me of a very special Boxer dog named, Tycho. It really is fitting.
The ambient station I listen to during stressful days at work plays this - it's very soothing. I missed his show in Raleigh by day, alas.
Runny Walker.
Great song for the commute to Santa Rosa.

Nice. It moves. Doesn't just lie there like a lot of similar groups.

I like this. Funny, but it sounds more like music to drive to rather than walk to.
Garageband rearing it's ugly head once more.
i likes it (very relaxing)! =) but... plays in last 30 days: 5 !

Very nice play set in the last ?hour or so.
Headphones on at work and just coding along
Thanks
It's one of the biggest mysteries of RP that this records is on the air so often.
My son saw a show by Tycho at a local record store and got a signed copy of the CD. Hadn't heard of them, but I'm impressed that he had.

But, I could do this myself at home. It's a simple derivative of Tangerine Dream.
I would have bet money that this was "Boards of Canada"

This guy (Scott Hansen) is currently on tour with a live band - playing mostly small to medium sized clubs.

Just saw him in Chicago and was very impressed.  Although his albums have a polished EDM feel, the live re-creation with guitars, bass, keyboards and analog drums is something to behold.  The drummer and guitarist in particular are crack musicians.

I saw them perform in San Francisco, and indeed it was mesmerizing to watch them recreate this sound live. The drummer was tight.
LOVE Tycho! Thank you for playing him.
All the major body parts benefit from a good groove!  (woo-hoo!! this has me twisting elbow to knee, elbow to knee, I can feel the calories and blubber burning away)

Complex and quite engaging.  Just how I like it.  9
Excellent production.
Pleasant enough. Doesn't seem to go very far though....
Juicy like walking outdoors today actually -- looking forward!
If you dig this check out the Mercury Program...less ethereal and more rock-and-rolly, but beautiful, simple melodies like Tycho.
good stuff!
There is a definite theme with Tycho, very similar tracks. But when that sound is awesome, why change it!?

wow...this is very cool...I keep trying to do some work and keep getting distracted by the very cool tunes--thanks!
All of this artist's material is excellent - this album in particular is a pleasure to listen to.
Just when i think i've got you all figured out you surprise. Thanks alot bill :D
Pretty luscious. No, that's not quite what I meant; "luscious" is sweet. This is more "succulent": tender, juicy and tasty.
I'm quite a huge fan of this style of music but I didi'nt know Tycho.
So, once again, THANKS A LOT, BILL!   {#Notworthy}

For those who love this, you may listen to Tunturia's stuff.
I thought I was on Groove Salad radio, which I tune in every time I don't like any tune currently being played here.
Wow liking this...{#Daisy}{#Dance}{#Daisy}

I love this whole album...check out the song "Ascension" that Rob Garza from Thievery Corporation collaborates on--it's on the deluxe album version!
