Kiss me hard before you go
Summertime sadness
I just wanted you to know
That, baby, you're the best
I got my red dress on tonight
Dancing in the dark in the pale moonlight
Done my hair up real big beauty queen style
High heels off, I'm feeling alive
Oh, my God, I feel it in the air
Telephone wires above are sizzling like a snare
Honey, I'm on fire, I feel it everywhere
Nothing scares me anymore
(1, 2, 3, 4)
Kiss me hard before you go
Summertime sadness
I just wanted you to know
That, baby, you're the best
I've got that summertime, summertime sadness
S-s-summertime, summertime sadness
Got that summertime, summertime sadness
Oh, oh oh oh
I'm feelin' electric tonight
Cruising down the coast goin' 'bout 99
Got my bad baby by my heavenly side
I know if I go, I'll die happy tonight
Oh, my God, I feel it in the air
Telephone wires above are sizzling like a snare
Honey, I'm on fire, I feel it everywhere
Nothing scares me anymore
(1, 2, 3, 4)
Kiss me hard before you go
Summertime sadness
I just wanted you to know
That, baby, you're the best
I've got that summertime, summertime sadness
S-s-summertime, summertime sadness
Got that summertime, summertime sadness
Oh, oh oh oh
I think I'll miss you forever
Like the stars miss the sun in the morning sky
Later's better than never
Even if you're gone I'm gonna drive (drive, drive)
I've got that summertime, summertime sadness
S-s-summertime, summertime sadness
Got that summertime, summertime sadness
Oh, oh oh oh
Kiss me hard before you go
Summertime sadness

Barf. Sounds like The Jamies on quaaludes. Just horrible.
Saccharine and over produced
Just love this album. Lana is brilliant! Can't wait for her follow up.

Very nice song. I like it from the first listening. ;-)
My problem with Lana del Rey is that I get the feeling most of her persona is an act.
This song puts me in a foul mood.
Okay, yes she is nice to look at, so what? That has nothing to do with the fact that this song makes me want to slit my wrists every time I hear it. This young lady's music is maudlin to the point of distraction. I, for one, do not listen to music to become depressed. I almost never post anything negative, but in this case I will make a big exception. Please gods, not again!!
She channels Lady Gaga really well. Or vice versa.

6 only! I really do not agree. Lana is maybe too beautiful and inaccessible to the old bearded who are listening to radio paradise and they are jealous ...
I listened to this song at night on my way to crater lake, it was captivating and mysterious.

Does not hold up on repeated listening. 5 4
I have to listen to Top-40 radio in the car—my 12 year old insists—and this is one of the better songs you hear there. I like the version I hear there (more upbeat) than this one, though.
I saw somewhere that she loves Mexico and has many friends there. I wonder if any of those friends have pointed out to her that her stage name means The King's Wool.
Pity about the detractors, I like her voice it has a sort of Lauren Bacall feel to it.

Ah yes....the woman bound to radio only forever after bombing her SNL appearance. You couldn't pay me enough to want to see her in person but at least she cleans up nicely on a mastered track.
maybe it's my imagination but I feel like they play a different version on the local radio stations.
I love Lana. I just do.

Nah, they just heard it already when her role was played by Nancy Sinatra.

Old GRAY bearded one here, this is better the monotone crap off her last album. Still not sure what is so special about her. Of course a good chunk of the stuff I heard as a young shaved one was nothing to write home about either.
Touché on all counts!

From a distance, I thought this was Lady Gaga. Not sure if that is a compliment, though.
People love to hate her, but I can't get enough!
r-r-rancid.
Now if we could just forget her SNL appearance. Then we could evaluate Lana with more clarity.
One word: Quaaludes.
yawn....

I prefer the Cedric Gervais remix of this song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XPbN2pQXe1o
I like the sound of her voice, however the arrangement in the original is not that "good for the ears".

Top 40 stuff I reckon, she is pretty hot though and if the teenyboppers like her she will make money. That is about all I have to say about her.
Severely overplayed (at least in Germany, not necessarily RP). The rest of her album is pretty good though.
She has something, but she needs a few more years of je ne se quois
I got some L-L-Lana nausea. Alright, it's not completely atrocious, but how else could we have spent that last 3 minutes instead?
A younger member of my family (eh hem) just turned me on to this girl....I listened to her stuff.......she has quite a voice! Again regarding a previous comment I made about the similar artists emerging post Adele and Florence & the Machine she could fall into this catagory.....but I think this girl is a bit of a treasure if you can get into her sound......
Yuck.
New name to me - jury's still out.
That's because it is. The sad thing is that it's not her act, but one concocted by lawyers and managers. She's every bit as manufactured as The Monkees were.
