And lived to see when you were wrestled to the ground
The lady gets what she wants, it's true
What she didn't get, there's two of you
Went dark when the moon hid behind a tree
But I could tell you were standing over me
I took a drink from your moonshine jar
Yeah baby, see you've got a plan too far
Hey, the slope gets slippier
Yeah, the women get lippier
Oh no, you can't come back to me
Look here now, this is where you are
A big blue sky and a plan too far
You're two sided sure as day and night
Up and down and then you're left and right
You're as consistent as a weather vane cock
But still pretending you can beat the clock
Yeah, people talk and they have no shame
They see your picture and they know your name
Modern stalking with a common touch
Nobody knows nothing, but they know too much, yeah
Hey, the slope gets slippier
Yeah, the women get lippier
Oh no, you can't come back to me
Well look here now, this is where you are
A big blue sky and a plan too far
But pretty baby you're a shooting star
In a big blue sky and a plan too far
Look here now, this is where you are
A big blue sky and a plan too far
But pretty baby you're a shooting star
In a big blue sky with a plan too far
Shit, thought that was Keith Richards for a sec... agree with the sentiment though.
Half of us probably been rescued by a gobby woman who put her hands on her womanly hips and told us exactly why we were full of it. If you're smart you'll keep that kind of person on your side. If you're lucky they'll let you tag along.
I was really lucky, that woman asked me to marry her. To her surprise I said yes...
I could believe it when you found another one

If you can't understand
Why a castle that's made out of sand
Disappears overnight
Then there's no point me saying this love isn't right
Unless you can believe
In a miracle
Unless you can believe
If you can't understand
Why some tears never dry all the time
That's how rivers begin
And the fateless line up to jump in
If you haven't found out
There's a rumor that's going about
That love's come to stay
But I wouldn't believe what they say –
No I wouldn't believe what they say
Unless you can believe
In a miracle
Unless you can believe
In a miracle
Unless you can believe
In a miracle
Unless you can believe
Fly away on the wings of an angel
Never touching the ground
Fly away with my heart in your hand
Never making a sound
If you can't understand
Why a castle that's made out of sand
Washes into the sea
Then try saying "this love's meant to be"
Then try saying "this love's meant to be"

Well said.
Many PhD's have not learned half as much as that statement
There are men who don't like gobby assertive women, there are men who like gobby assertive women, and there are men who are indifferent to gobby assertive women.
In addition to being a strong example of how a strong and assertive woman can be very attractive, I think she is also an example of a woman remaining attractive as she ages: not by undergoing contortions to retain the beauty of youth, but by embracing her own characteristic beauty. Different than the attractiveness she when she was young, but no less attractive (at least to my aging eyes). The women who try to hold on to their youthful charms well past their expiry date could learn from her.
In this context it refers to someone who freely speaks their mind, perhaps to the annoyance of those around. A gob is a mouth, as in "shut yer gob!". So a gobby person is always running their mouth off.
There are men who don't like gobby assertive women, there are men who like gobby assertive women, and there are men who are indifferent to gobby assertive women.
What "gobby" means? I can't translate even in Google Translate.
No you are not , but the Pretenders were OK IMHO

bist neidisch oder ?
Poe. Every single time I hear Poe.
My theory is that you play Chrissie Hynde because she is just so damn good !
Yes, RP has played this song 5 times in the last thirty days. I don't know how anyone can survive hearing the same tune every 6 days (assuming they listen to RP 24/7). The repetition would drive me crazy!!!
/sarcasm
Except for the first song, all others are actually HIT-SINGLES (stated in the ductus of the 1970's).
Re Ductus:
Mr Stingray, you astonish me, this is only the second time I have heard this term so used. Well done.
I can only surmise that, as with any new release, those who like it want to hear it more often, including BillG. Once the newness wears off, the tune has to either stand on its own or be relegated to the Once-In-A-Blue-Moon bin. You know the place...that corner of the CD shelf (or the hard drive) where songs that lifted you up when they first came out kind of put you in a weird mood now or leave you cold... but there are those times...
Also, I think the "promotion" accusation is both unfounded and unfair. RP is not a corporate concern and to the best of my understanding of how he's going about things, Bill is not in any way beholden to anyone regarding his playlist content, play order, frequency, or anything else besides paying his royalty bills like the responsible and respectful guy he is and retaining enough for himself to keep doing what he loves. If this were not the case, I suspect that most of us would pick right up on it and promptly go away.

I hear (literally) every single new album that hits the market - and many more that are not given a chance on RT - and can report that Chrissie's new album is a CLASS OF ITS OWN! Album of the year 2014, if you ask me!
Bill highlighted "just" three songs as good (under Music/Art), something I very-very much disagree with. Do not worry - I am not a member of the Chrissie Hynde fan-club.
Possibly the BEST work she has ever delivered!
What a wonderful surprise. Thank you, Chrissie!
The most complete album of 2014.
Photoshopped or not, she's about as hot as you can get at 62. Seen her live and she is all that for sure.
Ohh, first comment!
