I could fly away
Leave it all behind
I could take a train
But I would rather fly
I could escape
Through the window of my mind
But I'll never leave you behind
I've seen the place where the broken people hide
I wanna know love before I die
Open the window
Open the window
I could steal a plain
The skies, the moon, the rain
I will make a change
I'd give anything
I could escape through the window of my mind
I'll never leave you behind
I've seen the place where the broken people hide
I wanna know love before I die
I'm waiting, I'm waiting
For something, for nothing
I'm ready, I'm ready now
Open the window
Open the window
Open the window
I could escape through the window of my mind
But I'll never leave you behind
I've seen the place where the broken people hide
I wanna know love before I die
Open the window

Variety is good, that's why we're here at RP in the first place, right? Beth Hart is fantastic and I'm gonna be happy with anything she does...

I had never heard of her until RP. I was so surprised to learn that she is big in Europe, while she flies under the radar here. Shame on Chicago, a big blues town.
Yes, she is incredible !!! If you can, go see her in concert. She's fabulous! I saw her in Paris (Olympia) in December. Two hours of enormous show. In Europe and in France, we love her !!!

FLO?? I HEAR FLO?? but more like, soft Flo. Maybe they should tour together?
Do I here a little autotune in here? Love her voice but I swear it's got that digital twang right at the edges. Opinions (like I have to ask)?
This is fantastic. I've only ever paid attention to her in the work she's done with Joe Bonamassa but I love this. I'm buying this as I write this. Thank you RP.

This particular song, style, genre - however you describe it just doesn't fit her. I guess I am too used to her singing the blues. Not for me.
Millennial whoop?
You just know there’s so much more in that voice
I didn't think Beth Hart's music would go in this Coldplay-Snowpatrol-Lumineers like direction. I prefer the rock & blues version of her.

Yes, it's got a lot of the formulaic elements used by them and several other acts: the whooping/yodeling, the a capella breaks, the drum-circle-type drumbeat...not a bad melody though, strong voice.

I thought it was Keane with a sore throat.
I realize it's good singing, but it feels like braying after a while. See also: Florence and the Machine

I agree. I love most of her stuff and hurts my feelings to give her such a low score.
I absolutely disagree !

Awesome Voice (gonna youtube her "I'd rather go blind" with Jeff Beck, bet that's wicked!!! : )
Florence-like, toned down
...and I was sure it was Lumineers.
I'm really pleased to hear more of Beth Hart. I always thought she had a fierceness few have. Thanks Bill.

This is beyond good. I really, really like this.
she can do so much better...
Zat you, Florence? Give my regards to the Machine.
But seriously folks, some good moments, but a bit overblown. Warbling always bugs me.
