Playing with a speed bump
Laughing at the dice in the box

Banging on a ball field
Chewing on a bag of rocks

Slingshot cold cocked
Landing on a roof top
Waiting for the turkey parade

Lockjaw jigsaw
Betting on an outlaw
Picking at a purple vein
Picking at a purple vein

He's like a fat man in a little coat
Suckin' red vines and rum and coke
Singing I like ya jesus but I loves the dope
I think it's workin'
I think it's workin' yeah
It keeps me hummin'
Hummin' hummin' yeah

Double dip back flip
Everybody's brainsick
I mighty itty bitty maw

Low ground dog town
Wallow in a thorn crown
Choking on a power saw

Freeway dj
Swimming in the kool-aid
Whettin' up his appetite

Pickled sweet pig feet
Cooking on the concrete
Pimping bits of paradise
Pimping bits of paradise

He's like a fat man in a little coat
Suckin' red vines and rum and coke
Singing I like ya jesus but I loves the dope
Yes sir
I think it's workin'
I think it's workin' yeah
It keeps me hummin'
Hummin' hummin' yeah

For sunny yeah life is but a dream
For sunny it's a ball
For sunny yeah life is but a dream
I mighty itty bitty maw

Dry sober butt smoker
Can't keep your composure
Locomotor pull over
Bi polar roller coaster
Seven women seven hounds
Lucky number going down
Take a hit chew spit
There ya go enjoy the show

Fat man in a little coat
Sucking red vines and rum and coke
Singin' I like ya jesus but I loves the dope
Keeps me hummin'
Hummin' hummin' yeah

It keeps me hummin'
A hummin' hummin' hummin' yeah
I think it's workin'

Let's hope this fuckwad dies in prison!
Her latest album is all Led Zeppelin covers and we don't have any of them here? Help me out, RP!

Alanis Morrisette does it better and she doesn't need JB. Just my opinion, ratty blues guitar and vocals usually just don't cut it for me. If you like it, rock on.
He's a fat man in some tiny cuffs...

God given talent. Rocks the house solo, even better with Joe Bonamassa.

itsme_bygolly's comment:

I will say that if the Democrats had kept the Republicans from their constitutional right to appoint 2 of those Supreme Court justices that you would hear about it every day until the end of eternity.  That was some real Non-Democratic B.S. - irrespective of your political views.

Beth Hart is the bomb.  Make way, she's coming through.

Another painfully contrived album cover.

That’s so depressing to hear…. This is unlistenable

Please stop listening.  You are simply not worthy.
God I love Beth Hart.  Such a wild child.  Great catalog of stunning tunes:
I'd Rather Go Blind
I'll Take Care of You
Fat Man
and many more ...

Joe Bonamassa is a very lucky man to have found her or vice versa.
Bet she played football with the boys when she was five.
Pimping bits of paradise - Radio?
Upping my rating to 8. This song is growing on me. Kinda got a Keef feel ….
Saw her open for Kenny Wayne Shepherd a few years ago. Great show. She is quite entertaining.
Great lyrics.
Seems like a girl who's paid her dues, love it!

Well now didn't 'ol Beth of the Hart clan discover Jesus?  . . .

Anyway...seems she may have fallen a bit off that particular wagon? . . .

The song describes an addict.  That line is a depiction of how addicts think—the drugs are more important to them than anything else.  Not intended as a statement of her own personal beliefs.

Yep, the reference to purple veins, too.  Just know what I know.

This is a drop dead kick ass song.  Has the same lyrical assembly of an early Springsteen track, only coming from a whole different place.

My first listen.  I'll give it a 9
God given talent. Rocks the house solo, even better with Joe Bonamassa.

Might be she's trying to put the fire out? Sorry :-/

I quite like the song though, don't understand the many negative reviews. My taste in music must be akin to my sense of humour.
Having been raised on a farm, I find her "pose" on the tailgate entirely normal. Not to mention, awe inspiring.

Ms. Hart sings WITH Joe B.....not FOR him. And, quite the phenomenal show, I bet they put on together!!!

Today's mix is the very reason I support RP!
Sass and Twang - maybe that could be the name of her band.

That's a message that didn't age well...
What Bill G said
maybe not her best (song or album cover) but she is an incredible live act (now) and has a strong core of really great heartfelt songs . Worth checking her out more

bellissima voce, ritmo travolgente

Hard Fart?
Suddenly that scene from Tommy Boy makes so much sense!  It's always been funny, but I thought that was spontaneous gibberish of a comedy genius.  I know now that it's a comedy genius repeating someone else's gibberish!!

Exactly! He'd put on David Spade's jacket and try to get David's attention saying Look,  fat man in a little coat!
RIP Chris you are missed

This was great. Thanks for playing the unexpected and lots of women (which is also unexpected).

Yep.  And it's even more poignant in today's world given the opiod crisis going on in America, eh?

The question is:  Who Inspired Who??  (I'm not interested enough to do the research...just mildly curious)

Just yer usual girly coopy-down in a public place after too many beers, I'd say.  Not that I know anything about that kind of thing, of course.

It's like being in a shitty small town bar, and she's the star and everyone loves her, except me.
{#Frustrated}
Why did someone decide to write a crappy song about Tommy Boy?
Sweet voice.

Interesting you should say that.

I've sometimes 'put rp on' and felt that maybe the overall 'feel' of the music didn't fit with the time of day.

Of course there'll always be that problem when you 'broadcast' globally.

The fact that it only happens to me sometimes, makes me think that Bill & Rebecca might occasionally change things around a bit  to suit other timezones.

I think is just chance and luck. After all, as they say, a broken clock is right twice a day!

Just horrible
at 1st listening it was great but hearing it often doesn't sit that well...  all that ˝hummin'˝ starts to grate {#Frown}

She's incredible !!! If you can, go see her in concert. She's fabulous! I saw her in Paris (Olympia) in December. Two hours of enormous show. In Europe and in France, we love her.
I try, ostensibly, to stay away from political talk but I just found this Beth Hart Fat Man video, done very recently, at the Royal Festival Hall in London.  It seems....appropriate...

A lively and catchy melody that belies the dark, honest lyrics.  If someone you care about is (or was) an addict, you'll appreciate just how spot-on lines like "Bi-polar roller coaster" are.
Hey....I am "LIKIN' this one.

"Singing I like ya jesus but I loves the dope."

Well now didn't 'ol Beth of the Hart clan discover Jesus?  I seem to recall an interview she did with.....can you picture this one...she did an interview on the Marie Osmond talk show.  Can you imagine?  Oh how that one must'a shook the ground for some?  {#Roflol}

Anyway...seems she may have fallen a bit off that particular wagon?  No offense to those sensitive but I guess it's a case of the 'ol {#Moon}

Or maybe it's just a little tweak of the nose in the affectionate style only this lady could express?

ok, this is the 4th time i've heard this song this week. come on guys.... it was cute the first time as i recalled chris farley singing the song...
Catchy!
