Caught at tiny heels
Pinned a notice to posts
And then crawled in my mouth
There is a feeling I love
Buried in my brow
I have no reason to run
I see no reason!
Are you with me now? Ah?
Are you with me now? Ah?
It's not impossible
It's not unfathomable
It's not unusual, baby
To feel a shadow unkind
There is a feeling I love
Buried in my brow
I have no reason to run
I see no reason!
Are you with me now? Ah?
Are you with me now? Ah?
As she knows me now (Ah!)
As she knows me now (Ah!)
As she knows me now (Ah!)
As she knows me...
Are you with me now? Ah?
Are you with me now? Ah?
Are you with me now? Ah?
Are you with me now? Ah?
Are you with me now? Ah?
That's who I first thought it was! Had to come and look.
Snap!
Kinda kooky, kinda fun!
Hard to argue with that comment
Think it's why I like it too!!
Aldous Harding is with her now

This tune is all up in my head, I dig it! Thanks Bill!
In my head too...all the time. This tune is an ear worm in a great way.
Second time you mentioned that, so it must be a strong association for you.
But I'll go with the VU/Nico comparison as being more apt.
John McCrea is not in the same league as a singer as Cate Le Bon. And the lyrics of this one song, as simple as they are, are more profound and interesting than anything Cake has ever coughed up.
No, lyrically there is little comparison. It was more a comment on the instrumentation and arrangement and just the "feeling" of the song. I'm really no closer to putting my finger on what it is today than I was then..
She sounds like the offspring of Tiny Tim and Judy Tenuta.
But in a good way!
Something very Cake-like in this to my ear. Not a bad thing at all.

Love the oddball meter on this song! 4 + 2 + 4 + 4
Funny, I feel it in half time as 3 + 4
Rather exceptional.
Hearing some Big Thief.
My years of being a 'tone knob' in the pro-audio department of a music store, I was a bit leery about the thin-toned and repeated guitar riff.
After a few listens, I can now say that it works and I allow it to continue in the playlist.
I don’t understand why I like this? However, as I’ve got older, I’ve got better at not overthinking things. Sometimes it's better to just accept your feeling without justifying them, particularly to yourself.
Well put. And this sounds original. Unexpected. It's got a beat and you can dance to it.

Yes, that's pretty cool - quirky time but it works well.
I love the playful, jangly musings on the guitars, and how she does such a great job of mirroring them with her sweet lilting voice! What a treat to hear this!
Yes, yes, and yes! :)
Ty RP for the great music

It's the same appeal as Velvet Underground and Nico. Great that you can still produce such music.
Sounds it could have been made in the 60s.
Thanks R & B :)

In addition to having a similar sound, they both have links to Cardiff, have shared band members, and reportedly even went out with the same guy for a time (Huw Evans aka H Hawkline). I guess the Cardiff music scene is a small world!
Anyway, I've seen them both live and love them both. They each have something quite different to offer, in reality.
